Not the first time I've heard this claim that the USA would rather destroy the world than lose it position of controlling the world. It goes further than what was previously discussed on this forum; that Trump just 'wanted to look' at the nuke codes that were refused him. This video claims Trump would have used nukes to destroy Iran last week when he requested the codes. I would not be surprised if true. Trump can go down in history as the first president to use nukes since WW2. Fits his ego fine.
