Putin wants all of Ukraine, that wouldn't happened with the successful
negotiations. Putin would end up with what he has now, and those people
in that region want to be governed by Russia. Truce would be, the war would
be over and loss of life would cease. The US would help rebuild Ukraine
with the funds from the mining.

He never could win the war and he knew it....Everyone knew it.

Most especially when the EU and even the USA did not want to provoke Russia to the point they, in their own interests, would be forced to start WWIII. It is pretty much a given that China, North Korea and Iran would join with Russia in that.

Nobody condones what Russia did--it was evil and unconscionable and certainly unnecessary. But in order to get Russia to agree to peace it is necessary to acknowledge that they were not entirely without provocation. If the goal is to punish Putin, the war goes on.

If the goal is for millions of saved lives, an end to the destruction, and peace and a chance for the Ukraine to remain an independent country, you do what you have to do to achieve peace.

Zelensky is in no way helping to achieve that leaving open speculation as to what his motives really are.

I've read the supposed terms, and I wouldn't have signed off on it if I was Ukraine either.

This was an inevitability once the election resuolts started coming in. The EU should assume: 1) the US commitment to NATO is dead; 2) The US will passively sabotage efforts by Europe to aid Ukraine. This would include ending intelligence sharing and even access to the satellite network.
