VA swamp finally being drained

Our outpatient clinic has zero fat to cut.

Right, because there is no possible way that the VA could be inefficient. It is simply impossible to have the same or better outcome AND cut jobs. Right?

Have you morons ever run a business in your entire lives?
Don't waste your breath they are not interested in outcomes that include non-party accomplishments.

Reverting to 2019 levels is nothing drastic (except for those who will lose their jobs). Surely, this cut can be done without impacting services to vets, but it is just as sure that the Associated Press, NYT, etc., will find some poor wretched Vet bastard whose life has been ruined by this cut.

And do it goes.
Without impacting services to Vets?

Sure buddy

Sure

Sure, I have. I run two, but they are very small (1-3 employees at most.)

Not really comparable.

The problem with less employees is that there is less chance that fraud will be caught.

Uh, guy, not sure what you are babbling about. Before Covid, I was in and out of the DMV in less than 10 minutes when I needed to get my license renewed. Of course, now it's a little slower because they have all these "Real ID" requirements.

We ain't talking about you minimum wage job at the Piggly-Wiggly, Cleetus.

I'm talking about any office job, where you have to have six meetings before anything gets done.

My last job, about half my week was attending Teams Meetings.
/---/ My friend, who just turned 60, works as a rep for a company that sells high-end equipment and supplies.
The sales reps are told to spend all day Friday reporting their activity for the previous week and all day Monday planning out the coming week.
That is two days out of prime selling time.
Then Tuesday - Thursday they will get a text about a mandatory Zoom meeting during the day, which usually lasts an hour about productivity.
Failure to do any of this can and does result in termination regardless of how much you sell.

Then the managers scream and yell about the lack of sales results.

You don’t think that it is a possibility that there are many people that were hired that are unnecessary to daily operations? Seriously? This is the federal government we are talking about here. They have essentially had a blank check to do as they please.

Right, because those government workers are really hustling to get their work done, right? You guys are funny.
You act as if it’s a given that VA workers are lazy and stupid

It’s not. And oh by the way… many of them are Vets themselves

Fuck em huh? Like the WH says… they probably shouldn’t have jobs anyway

Sounds a lot like what Elmo is demanding

What's wrong with trying to eliminate wasteful spending in the government agencies?

What you spout is the Progressive Socialist adherents spouting of fear to affect voters. And there are issues with the VA. You guys have excuses on top of excuses on top of excuses and it works as you use the Prog Communist psychology playbook to hoodwink people. I believe we do not have perfection. You do as it just needs more resources. Truthfully many people are not happy. And different power structures take advantage of it.

I didn’t say that. People are often hired in times of need, but then never fired, particularly in government. Hire but never fire results in bloat.

I am done explaining basic business practice to you people. It is very concerning that so many people can be so uninformed.

/---/ If Musk was demanding employees spend 17 hours a week documenting their productivity, then I'd agree with you 100%. But he asks for 5 bullet points. That should take a few minutes at most, especially if you take notes during the week about your completed work.

Oh, I agree. I have a better one. Last job I was at, we had to have a mandatory 6 AM meeting because half our team was in India and we had to accommodate them.

Except that's not what they are doing, they are just randomly slashing jobs. JObs that will have to be replaced as some point with people who don't know what they are doing.
/---/ Link to support that accusation.

Government isn't a business.

And what I've seen is that when businesses go on cutting sprees, they don't cut the least efficient employees; they cut the ones they have to pay the least in severance.

Anyone ever have a job where the bean counters come rolling in?
They usually have no real idea what they’re doing and the end result is that the work product suffers.

Yeah they save the company money in the short term … but cost more long term fixing what they broke
