Congress should pass a law forcing nonprofits take us off their mailing lists if requested, just like we can unsubscribe to email ads. They could include this provision in their mailings.

That would be difficult to do as many mailings are to the address only, citing "Resident" or "Occupant".

Even when it is addressed to you, they won't cooperate. I moved from FL to Kentucky and had AT&T service down there. I lived in KY from 2007-2022. Every month without fail, I received a card offering me a bundle option for my AT&T cable to go with my phone bill. The problem was AT&T cable nor a landline were not offered in my area and I no longer had landline service in KY. Two wrongs don't make a right, so I called one day when I was bored and asked them to stop wasting their money by mailing me those cards. They claimed it was not possible to cancel my receiving these cards, because the computer system had no way to delete me because I had AT&T call phone service that I initially acquired when I worked for the company. When I left, I changed my corporate account to private. I guess if you are a customer for one, they want you to be a customer for all, and nothing can change that. So, I got junk mail for 15 years, and I'll bet the people who bought my house are still getting them.

thats what they are mandated to do,but every PMG we have had from private industry including Delay,when they quit, they said its one of the things they say the PO needs is to make money not just break even...the guy from the 90's said any kind of profit made has to be spent or congress takes it and that means some gets spent on wasteful useless things,he felt that practice should be stopped.....delay said its a hard place to manage,just like all the others....
