DeJoy Departs From USPS

The postal service needs to remain federal. Cut costs by reducing deliveries to three days a week with in person pick up options. It is the only reliable method to reach every household in the country.
no it isnt all you will be doing is increasing OT to the max....the mail just doesnt stop, its always moving forward till it gets to the route its going to....

i dont have to read it i worked in the place....its a fucking business and it should allowed to make a profit to offset its expenses......
I agree with them being allowed to make a profit in other areas to help pay for there core businesses...

But their core stuff should be protected... This is there primary objective...

Sorry, I over reacted... Probably to many people saying destroy things with out knowing what they should they do...

Personally I see in Europe outside cities the Governments are looking at rural optic fibre network like roads. You only need one, it needs to be maintained and a number of consumer companies can be used to sell you on to the network... This means businesses can move more and more into rural areas..

the primary objective is to deliver the mail in a timely fashion....whats their "core" stuff?...

That's not true. Delivery as in to private residences or businesses. No need to change sorting or shipping between posts. You are also highly biased on the issue. They could dramatically increase rates on junk mail as well. Doing nothing is not a solution.

yea it is true......you people dont realize how the mail moves in the system....the carrier is who will have to deal with the mountain of mail sitting at his case were he gets it ready.....and he wont be able to deliver that mountain in 3 days without alot more OT which is what they try to keep under control....

That is fair and to the USPS that is core...

I would say that the mail at the time was the most advanced method of communication.. So it could be argued that a modern communication of the day should be under controlled or ownership by the US Government. Is this saying that the US Government shouldn't be relying on private companies to provide their communications?

I would say that the constitution should have been modernised?

lol...yea right....how many back rooms and docks in the PO have you been in?...
Plenty... sufficient for credibility... in my former life as a semi tractor-trailer driver shuttling 40-foot-containers full of airmail and air-freight from private docks and the old Main PO in Chicago to the USPS airmail terminal at O'Hare Field. Next slide, please.

so whats a hood rat?....a black person working there?...

This is just silly. Made up nonsense.

The Post Office CANNOT BE PRIVATIZED. It is one of the things that Congress is specifically empowered to do (spend money on) under Article I.

Which is to say, we are stuck with it.

Whether Elon Musk or anyone else can make it more efficient is anyone's guess, but it will ALWAYS be an arm of the Federal Government.

The best thing that could happen would be Congress passing a law outlawing collective bargaining in the Federal Government, and particularly in the USPS.

But that ain't happening.
I dunno but it seems to me that congress is simply authorized to fund it. Not mandated.

But with the Roberts' court, it would probably depend upon whether there was a dem, gop or maga potus. At this point, Roberts may be ruing not lumping maga in with the dems. lol

USPS is self supported/funded by it's users.

Privatizing means it eventually would get sold off and end up in shareholder accounts driving up the price of services.

It's not just the price that will go up. It's not profitable to provide service to every home in America and it never will be.

"In an exclusive report, TIME noted, "DeJoy’s departure comes weeks after he struck an agreement to allow Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to help the agency cut costs and remove bureaucratic red tape."

DeJoy leaves as head of USPS because the plan is to go private.

"The news comes after officials with the American Postal Workers Union warned carriers and other Postal Service workers that Elon Musk and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy may privatize their operations"

I think this was the plan all along. Same with the other agencies DOGE has infected.

Thank God we will finally begin to get mail in a reasonable span of time. Can't happen fast enough.
