USMB Has no Books Discussion Board?

Now if you actually read books....
You would know that:
" Reading rots the mind"

But....since you never learned to read.....you have nothing to fear.
I was joking

But it has been ages since I read a book. Used to read all the time as a kid, but just don’t seem to have the attention span for it these days

So was i....because i thought it was kinda obvious you were joking....leaving that much room....its low hanging fruit just begging to be picked.
And it was a great joke. I thank you sincerely for the set up.

The line is from Watership Downs....made by grandpa rabbit.

And....
If you find yourself wanting to read but having a difficult time finding the time....
Seriously consider audio books....
I was in the same shape....and it's so pleasant to get the books consumed once again.

Still looking for another great read.....
Yes, computer AIs can read a story....but live people do better.

Yeah, I’d rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than to AI reading a book.

I’ll gladly pay a little extra to have a real person

I plan to listen to a few books this summer during some long walks

So "rightwingers" can't read but this is a "rightwing" site???
You idiot....

Unabridged!

I always enjoyed the audio books read by the author themselves. I always had the impression that they read it the way they imagined when the were writing it.

Personally, I still buy the old fashioned style books. I like the feel. I'll go audio if I'm planning a long drive and pop it in when I tire of the conversation... so far my wife hasn't complained.

My favorite source is the public library.
Lots of audio books. And the price is nice!

There's others of course and they sometimes charge outrageous prices.

But usually these days you can go to the author's own web page and get a deal on the book. Indie Authors are a thing these days...
