I'm currently reading: "The Making Of Donald Trump" by David Cay Johnston. If you already suspect that Trump is a conman but need concrete evidence as to why -- this book is for you.
Johnston is an award winning journalist, but also a business and tax prof. Which makes him the perfect guy to do Trump, which he has been doing since 1988.

Anyone that reads that book and then votes for Trump is insane and incompetent.

I enjoy non-fiction books. Haven't read for pleasure in a long time, at least not in book form other than the bible and those related books.

Here is an interesting approach to reading nonfiction, read a nonfiction book from 1995 or 2000 related to business, politics, war, geopolitics et , whatever the time of publishing is less important than the predictions.

Assess how accurate the authors were in their predictions. Then extrapolate that same kind of book to what they might predict today and apply a similar approach.

We cannot control the destiny of civilization unless we are honest with ourselves.

I tried one... did a thread asking for book recommendations and discussion of authors and their novels but the libTARDS showed no interest so it dried up on the vine....
This is a right wing site... right wingers dont read... cuz they cant. : )

Writing a good book review that actually tells you something about the book without giving away the entire thing....

That means you actually have to understand the elements of a story and how each of those elements can make a difference between good and bad writing.

Some books....they suck, but the movie made from it was 10x better than the book was. CIP Hunger Games.

In other instances the books so far outstrip the movie despite the glowing hype over the movie. Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series. Especially the Hobbit movie missed out on several key aspects of the tale....they were crucial to the story....but lost anyway.
Couldn't tell you why....

I get library books all the time and blow through them. Usually the audio versions because I can keep moving while listening.

Trying to make a movie out of the Rings Trilogy should be a Federal crime. Reminds me of that scene in Band Of Brothers where one of the characters yells out 'What were you thinking!!!!' at the German POWs marching west.

What is really nuts....

No need for any of that expensive Hollywood stuff anymore.
The age of AI is here....it can literally read the book and make the movie complete without cutting scenes or important parts....
Same movies can be produced for roughly $100k ea.....except they will be unabridged. But without the hundreds of millions or time spent.

All that being said.....

If people actually knew Tolkien.....understood his writing....they would instantly understand and comprehend that Tolkien wrote MORE theology than his buddy CS Lewis. (They were beer drinking buddies)
Lewis was more brazen and more obvious than Tolkien....but it was Tolkien that introduced Lewis to Christianity to begin with.

And reading The Hobbit.....you might see elements of Tolkein and Lewis both in the character of Bilbo Baggins.....the journey, the elements of pride, the hurt feelings and etc....and why the silverware mattered at the end. ROFL.
