USA Ranks 27th in Social Justice

No. We the people are not the government. We created the government. But the government, once created, is not the people. If it were, we would have no need to worry about government oppressing the people. We can't oppress ourselves.

The only government that is the people is self government. One that most people neglect.

Cripes, george acts like he has a woody for socialism.
I don't bend over for capitalism, do you?

"According to a team at Bloomberg News, at one point last year the U.S. had lent, spent or guaranteed as much as $12.8 trillion to rescue the economy. The Bloomberg reporters have been following that money. Alison Stewart spoke with one, Bob Ivry, to talk about the true cost to the taxpayer of the Wall Street bailout."

The true cost of the bank bailout | Need to Know | PBS

That isn't capitalism. It's socialism.
I'm not well-versed in Economics, but I don't think it is socialism or capitalism.
It looks more like a Ponzi scheme, to me.

"What actually happened is that default rates on risky mortgage loans rose sharply while home prices plateaued. Megabanks took a look at their balance sheets and realized they were not only holding trashy mortgage products, but also lots of liabilities of other mega financial institutions.

"It suddenly dawned on them that all the others probably had balance sheets as bad as theirs, so they refused to roll-over those short-term liabilities.

"And since the Leviathans were highly interconnected, when they stopped lending to one another the whole Ponzi pyramid scheme collapsed."

What ever you choose to call it, it is still going on.
Speculation, on the taxpayers dime, in commodities, Euro debt and equities.
When some of those bets go bad, the socialists/capitalists will expect another bailout.

The US supports an illegal alien population that would make up a 3rd of Germany's entire population. Germany eradicated every "social problem" in concentration camps during the 20th century and now they want to preach about "social justice" to the Country that saved their asses from a monster? The question is why don't American lefties defend their own Country instead of siding with every left wing criticism in the world?

Let me get this straight, a foundation in a European country that murdered it's "social problems" a mere 70 and 80 years ago and authorized shooting it's citizens in the back for trying to escape the "wall" about 40 years ago wants to lecture the United States about what? How many illegal aliens does Germany authorize? You can bet your ass-ets that the American left just loves this shit.
It's not like ethnic cleansing and mass murder are foreign concepts in recent US History, either.

"These results provide strong evidence that the Gulf war and trade sanctions caused a threefold increase in mortality among Iraqi children under five years of age. We estimate that an excess of more than 46,900 children died between January and August 1991. (N Engl J Med 1992;327:931–6.)"

That paper was proven to be pure horseshit a few days after it was published.

Sadly no. you're right. Ethnic cleansing and mass murder are not foreign concept. Abortions been legal for decades.:(

Funny... I don't consider my fellow countrymen parasites.

You probably don't consider yourself a parasite either, but nevertheless you are.

Being born in the same country doesn't automatically make you my ally.

i guess that's the difference between liberalism and Conservatism. I DO care what happens to you. You wouldn't care if I fell off the face of the Earth.

Yet ironically, you claim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as your own.

Abortion may very well turn out to be murder.
Since I don't pretend to know when life begins, I can't say for sure.
The 46,900 living, ambulatory children who were killed by direct and indirect effects of US bombs were alive, and I can say that for certain.

At the very least, parents who choose abortion do not profit materially from their decision.
That's not the case for those who killed Iraqi children for money and Wall Street bonuses.

But.... but... that's ok... because they are just trying to earn a living! No one should interfere with a rich man's goals... that's Capitalism 101, don't you know that George?

The connection between social justice and quality health care seems straightforward.

Only to morons like you who can't even define the term "social justice."

Why would you think health care is irrelevant?

Since "social justice" is just a euphemism meaning "organized plunder," it's entirely relevant. Mass expropriation of private property is appropriate. The end point of pursuing "social justice" is a Soviet style command economy.

How about this one, from the great Dr?

“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Betting you OWS types don't like to use that one alot, hunh?!

Good. I'd like to see us lower but it's a start.

I was trying to figure out if the OP thought that was a good thing
:D
I don't think being at the bottom of the pile as far as economic and political equality is concerned is a good thing, and it will probably get worse for the coming generations of Americans.

"'USA: We're No. 1!'

"Oh, wait — Iceland is No. 1. But we did beat out Poland and Slovakia, right? Uh...no. But go on down the rankings and there we are! No. 27, fifth from the bottom. So our new national chant is, 'USA: At Least We're Not Last!'"

"A foundation in Germany has analyzed the social justice records of all 31 members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), ranking each nation in such categories as health care, income inequality, pre-school education, and child poverty.

"The overall performance by the United States — which boasts of being an egalitarian society — outranks only Greece, Chile, Mexico, and Turkey.

"Actually, three of those countries performed better than ours in the education of pre-schoolers, and Greece did better than the United States on the prevention of poverty."

Another example of the economic and political inequality built into this system that won't change by "choosing" between Mitt and Mutt next November.

Social Justice is an Oxymoron.

You're right, I couldn't care less if you fell off the face of the Earth. In fact, I believe the world would be a better place without you in it. However, people only smirk at your claim that you care what happens to me.

Yet ironically, you claim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as your own.

Wrong. I'm an atheist.

You are an Idiot sometimes. Apply that energy to a Work Ethic and see what happens. Or maybe spend a year in Iceland. :D

The rich man's goal is to provide you with ever better and more abundant goods and services. Why would you want to interfere with that?
