When movies are built around "wokeism" instead of historical accuracy, excellence, and quality, they become boring and predictable. Those sorts of movies are agenda-driven which destroys their credibility.

You must hate a lot of movies since the original nationality or race of the characters was not filled by anyone but white. That was the first 75 n years of cinema.
How did you like Ben Hur, Charleston was no Jew from the ME.

The problem with blackface, yellowface, and redface actors wasn't just that they were white people playing a role, but more often than not, they were perpetuating harmful racial stereotypes.

Usually that was only in comedies.....where everything was over-exaggerated.
Hell, even the actual blacks that had acting roles went over the top. LOL

People had a sense of humor......a REAL sense of humor.

I have to admit I find it jarring and distracting to see a character portrayed by someone who looks so different from what they should. I was fine with Hamilton but not so much with Bridgerton. What is next, men portrayed by women and vice versa?

What's next is a Finnish dude playing a Middle Easterner so all the white dudes in America can feel comfortable with themselves.

I don't really care what race/nationality Snow White or Ariel from Little Mermaid are. They're fictional characters. Whatever.

But I think historical characters should be played by the correct actors. This goes for all races. Please don't show me, for example, a film about China populated by Brazilian women. For pity's sake.

Okay, about that. In 1937, they produced a film version of Pearl S. Buck's The Good Earth, about life in China.
