In reality Paxton isn't really going to be much of a change, Israel will still have two reliable senators from Texas.
If anything Paxton will be a defender of the 2A where Cornyn stuck his finger in the air in an emotional moment and failed.
The big test will be to see if he is a reliable vote for Thune when the Senate chooses leadership in January.
