Testing has no effect on the number of hospitalizations, or the number of deaths.
Lying about who has covid affects it a great deal.
You know that when somebody presents to the hospital, they get tested. So the doctors know whether to put them in the COVID ward, or in the non-COVID ward.

So even if we stopped all non-hospital testing, the number of hospitalizations and the number of deaths would NOT change.
Sure it would. How would the hospital blame your death on Covid without testing? Oh . . . . you mean the way they do now?
Nope, they never tested a dead body. Didn’t want to waste the kit!

Read the op. You're making yourself look stupid. The "death rate" is the number of fatalities vs the number of cases. Not vs the population.
That's not the real death rate. That's the TDS moron death rate. Even if you used the number of cases, only the number of actual cases to have a realistic result. The number of cases produced by testing is a small subset of that.
As I said, read the OP. Nostra posted the "confirmed case fatality rate" from realclearpolitics.com

That's what is being argued. If you want to argue fatalities per population, start your own thread.

You'll find the data here.
From your link:
CLOSED CASES
2,825,659

Cases which had an outcome:

2,660,099 (94%)
Recovered / Discharged

165,560 (6%)
Deaths
That's a worthless metric intended only to scare the gullible.

Even if we closed down all testing sites. Hospitals would continue to test for coronavirus in order to determine where to house and whether to isolate infectious patients.

It is the ONLY accurate metric, which is why you reject it.

All other metrics make the MORONIC assumption that NOT another person will die of covid who has not already died!!!!!

The scarry part of that metric is that we have 2.5 million people in long term treatment in the ICU's. People have been on ventilators for days, weeks, and months. they're put on bigger and bigger machines that keep their bodies alive, by taking over for the failed organs.

I would disagree with that. If a facility treats a Covid patient, they are entitled to government money. The only way to get that money is with a positive test. The son of a friend of mine is the boyfriend of an ER nurse. She said even if you die of a heart attack on the way to the hospital and test positive, you treated a Covid patient and are entitled to fed money.

It's not anywhere near accurate. It's the most alarming to the gullible, which is the reason you use it.

Who are you trying to fool?

You know that COVID-19 causes blood clots that can be the cause strokes and heart attacks.

We were at a high of 5.8%, now we are down to 3.1%.
Isn’t that just because of more testing though? Trump says cases are going up just because we test more which means death rate goes down because the denominator is increasing.

No, that's a documented fact. Even if you aren't tested, if you had a sniffle, they could claim you died of Covid

When she was admitted to Baptist East Hospital on March 27, there were only 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky. She was within the first 20 reported cases of the coronavirus in the state.

After 51 days, several rounds of pneumonia, a blood infection, and weeks on a ventilator and tracheal tube, the 73-year-old survived COVID-19.

So one woman is the equivalent of 2.5 million people?

More testing means driving up the numbers, which is the only reason TDS morons are always whining about it.

Back in 2009, Øbama ordered the CDC to tell states to stop testing for H1N1, and the last report was late July of that year. So no one knows how many cases or deaths.

And which is exactly what Hillary would have done had she won in 2016, order the testing stopped after a certain level. Voila!
