US Government Spends A Record $433 Billion In One Month As Deficit Explodes

The debt continues to grow, we just want to blame. Name the last President when the debt went down from the time they entered the office and when they left office.

Calvin Coolidge, the last conservative president.

Yep, since then the parties have just spent and spent and spent, but that is okay as long as yours is the one spending.
But there are different levels of bad spending. For instance deficits dropped drastically under Clinton and he ended with a balanced budget. Obama spent a ton to get out of a recession and then deficits declined. Now we are spending a ton in a good economy? WTF?
They dropped under Clinton because of the peace dividend and the Republican Congress. With every budget, Clinton demanded more spending than what was in the budget Republicans approved.

Clinton deserves no credit for reducing the deficit.

They had to force Clinton to balance the budget, then later when this proved popular with the people Clinton falsely claimed all the credit for it, shocker.

Presidents are given far too much credit for budgets considering it is congress who actually passes them.

Dims only give a fuck about the deficit when a Republican is in the White House.

As evidenced by Clinton's surplus and Obama more than halving the deficit. :cuckoo:
Obama tripled the deficit before he halved it. He's like the used car salesman on TV saying he's taking $500 off the price.

As opposed to the republicans who did nothing with the deficit.

Republicans held a majority of congressional seats for most of Clinton's terms. Blaming one party is partisan foolishness.

You make a good point. But at that time the Senate was not a majority rule body.
And even in the House weak party discipline coupled with Democrat block voting meant that the majority simply wasn’t big enough.
But yes I blame Republicans. So do Democrats. They seem downright offended at times that Republicans didn’t stop them in their hairbrsined schemes.
And thus Trump. The Republican elites had their chance to stop Democrats and failed over and over. So we went with Trump.

There is a difference. Your false equivilancies won't change that fact.

Calvin Coolidge, the last conservative president.

I'm related to Calvin Coolidge.

Maybe by blood, but not your politics.

I'm more conservative than Calvin Coolidge for sure, and proud of it.

Your worship of Trump denies the validity of that statement

The Congress and the President, share the responsibility. Which again puts the blame on the two parties in charge.
We currently have one party in charge....

He ran on it and did it. Meanwhile we currently have a Republican President and congress and skyrocketing deficits.

The government would be spending a lot less if the Dems had not insisted on jacking up spending as their price for not filibustering the budget deal.

...'The real highlight of the August budget report was that government outlays, or total spending, soared to $433.3 billion, not only 30% higher than a year ago, but the highest government monthly outlay of any month on record.'

US Government Spends A Record $433 Billion In One Month As Deficit Explodes

Federal deficit jumps by $214 billion in August

Absolutely pathetic.

Is this Trump's/the Rep's idea of 'small government'?

Useless pricks.

We shouldn't be surprised.
This is the same asshole that filed for bankruptcy SIX FUCKING TIMES.
He doesn't know how to handle money.
His life is a facade.
Jared Kusher told Steve Bannon that Trump didn't have the money to contribute to his own campaign, according to Bob Woodward.
No one should be surprised that Trump is wrecking the economy.
He pulls out all the shiny objects before he opens the trap door.

Trump has never filed for bankruptcy. Businesses he owed has.

How many businesses do you own?

He was lying, and he didn't do it. The House Republicans did it. If you don't recall, with Clinton's first budget, he was projecting deficits as far as the eye could see.

Fake news the only President to ever triple the debt was Ronnie Raygun!

Lol
He’s had a handful of businesses file bankruptcy out of hundreds... You fucking moron

Why do you sheep keep repeating this lie? Trump has not had hundreds of businesses. Trump has the company that his grand mother started that is still going. Other than that every business he has started on his own has failed, and it was not hundreds, or even tens.

Tried his hand at steaks...failed.
Tried his hand at Vodka...failed
Tried his hand at an airline...failed and was repossessed by the bank.
Tried his hand at ice...failed
Tried his hand at Casinos...failed
Tried his hand at publishing...failed
Lol
He inherited a few million dollars is all, and he made billions out of that. Far more successful than his father ever could dream of being... so shut the fuck up

Dude, Trump Inc is the same company that his grandmother started, it is the reason he has what he has today.
Ya and obama got his fortune off of you

Deficit and debt are not the same thing.

Also, Reagan was not the only president to have the debt triple while he was in office. The debt increased more than 11 times while FDR was president, going from $22 billion to $258 billion. The debt increased more than 8 times while Wilson was president, going from just under $3 billion to just under $24 billion. I'll repost the link I'm using to get these figures:

Thank you sir I stand corrected. FDR was dealing with some pretty serious issues during his time in office though.

Did you forget about the depression? His war really, so now FDR started WWII. That is something I didn't know.

He turned a sharp recession into a 12-year-long depression. Obama did the same thing.
