Communism leads to poverty, however.
Under a communist system, there is a huge caste of have-nots and a few party bosses who live like royalty.
But the thing is , these party bosses produce nothing but misery. They aren't innovators but tyrants. So the overall income goes down.
Okay, you see, the funny thing about your argument is that most of the countries that have tried communism were miserable places to live before the Communists took over. That's why the Communists won.
Russia in 1960 was a much better place to live than Russia in 1917 for most people.
Before 1959, Cuba used to be one of the wealthiest nations of the hemisphere next to America. However, communism has caused place to reach Shithole status. 90 miles away people living in squalor, eating garbage, people telling them what to do. Pathetic.
Uh, guy, Cuba was a shithole before the Communists took over. 75% of the arable land was owned by foreigners.
In an interview with Jean Daniel in October 1963, then President Kennedy said: “I believe that there is no country in the world, including the African regions, including any and all the countries under colonial domination, where economic colonisation, humiliation and exploitation were worse than in Cuba, in part owing to my country’s policies during the Batista regime."
Now, being Americans, instead of owning up to what we did wrong, we've spent the last 60 years punishing Cuba like an angry ex-girlfriend drunk dialing her boyfriend.

"Castro, you Communist!!!"
Ironically, we've probably hardened their resolve to keep Communism...
Ditto with Venezuela. Extremely rich nation, but they overdosed on liberalism and the people are starving in the streets.
And why do you think they've voted for that? Maybe because all those riches weren't getting down to average folks.
