this seems to work fine , if people just operate on lies and hate here, i dump them anyway so I will make sure he sticks to his promise and dump his ass, now he will be at piece with the world. Point being if people let others come on and never supply the truth and only live off of each other lies. then you should dump that type of person also. If they won't contribute they shouldn't be allowed to stay here.

You're just not too bright. Its like talking to a bucket of paint.
ace that won't wash you have to contribute or your ass is gone. You have to contribute and you can't try to hijack the thread, that's the rules, Its up to you ,make it simple, and just say go ahead.

I can imagine a version of UBI that would be relatively sane (if still economically problematic). IF it fully replaced the current welfare state. IF if was uniformly applied to everyone, and not just a scheme for identity politics. IF it wasn't just a trojan for piecemeal "equity" intitiatives.

But I simply can't imagine that happening with our current government or politics. UBI would be used like every other government program - as a tool to increase the power of Congress.

Not only is that is a simplistic statement, but it doesn't even use the correct syntax for the terms' meanings.
What triggered your silly statement. It may be that you are a concrete learner. You don't understand what 'syntax' means. The concept of 'landed property' drove the creation of the Constitution.

We lost our way somewhere back in time.

Through legislation used to tilt the playing field in their favor, the rich and powerful have managed to concentrate wealth into a few hands once again, at the expense of the middle class and poor.

I do not disagree with JD Vance when he says we have a corporate oligarchy.
I'm all for an estate tax, because of the obvious concentration of wealth in a few families (in both parties)

I'm not for universal income (and I add Nixon was once an advocate). Despite the very rich (and the gop) efforts to make us more a corp oligarchy (and Vance is a lying pos), the numbers just aren't there to balance a budget or wage a war without TAXING the middle. I see three acceptable avenues: work, be old/disabled, starve.

I don't know if you've ever heard of Milton Friedman. He was a Nobel Prize Winner and Reagan's favorite economist. I'm a huge fan of Milton Friedman. And Reagan.

Friedman was a hardcore libertarian. He was opposed to big government in every way. He was against the plethora of regulatory agencies. He was against corporate bailouts. He felt all drugs should be legalized. And so forth.

On the Fairness Doctrine: "I'm not in favor of fairness. I'm in favor of freedom. Fairness means someone has to decide what's fair."

So you can imagine how surprising it is to learn he was in favor of UBI. He called it a "negative income tax".

He discussed it in his books Capitalism and Freedom and Free to Choose.

The basic idea was to eliminate all welfare programs. They were too expensive and had massive costly government bureaucracies, and subject to too much fraud, abuse, and waste.

Instead, the poor would be given money with no strings attached to spend as they please.
I tend to be in favor, but the problem is we'd still have the children of the poor, and in at least some instances, people are "poor" also lack the personal responsibility to care for kids (and mental illness and even addiction don't show "lazy ass non workers."

That's the problem with libertarianism.

An UBI only works is the robotic labor tax will make wealth, run the government, and support the population.

Also, the state of Alaska has had a UBI for decades. Sarah Palin even bragged about it.
Alaska does not have a UBI. The dividends from the Permanent fund are not means-tested, they are based on how long someone has lived in the State.

If you move to Alaska tomorrow, you do not get money, you have to live there for a while before you start collecting. (it used to be 5 years, I don't know if that's still the case)

And the fund is only as "permanent" as the funding- when the oil revenues dry up, so will the fund...

No UBI is means tested.
Well we don't have UBI's so it's kind of moot.

The proposals I have seen were for a minimum income that phased out.

Alaska's Permanent Fund is not a UBI, and I would be very surprised if Palin ever characterized it that way, as you stated.
