United States VS. Taiwan on Covid-19: May 1, 2020 TO August 1, 2020.

wow---NYC has over twice as many tourists as Taiwan has people!!!! and that's not a difference???!!!!!!
..it was in NYC long before anyone knew

It does not matter if 100 people walk across your bridge and only 10 people walk across my bridge. Close the bridge, and no one walks across

And when Trump says to close the bridge, the Democrats are the ones who call him a racist for closing the bridge then attack him for not closing it sooner.

You're really shitty people

Also, the political office holders who still think the virus is nothing more than the flu and dependent on your DNA will be thrown out of office on November 3, 2020. Look out, Blue Wave on the horizon! It just a shame they won't get to take office until January 2020. How many more Americans will die unnecessarily in the meantime?
more babble from you
FYI, Taiwan is an island--the US is not
..you must not have graduated 4th grade geography

Relative to the Wuhan province in China, the United States is on an Island. An Island that is further away from China than Taiwan. Guess what Mr. Geography, you can't drive a car from the United States to China! The North American and South American Continents are separate from any other land mass on the planet effectively making it an island relative to China.

Most people arrive in Taiwan through air travel passing through an airport before they go out into the country. Most people arrive in the United States through air travel passing through an airport before they go out into the country. The United States does have land borders with Canada and Mexico, but less than 10% of the people that arrive in the United States from another country arrive by driving a car across the land border or walking across the land border. In any event, the land border can be sealed. 99% of traffic across the land borders with Mexico and Canada cross through specific areas that can be easily sealed.

Canada and Mexico are not sources of infection for the United States. Its Canada and Mexico that have to worry about the United States infecting them.
People who have obesity, compared to those with a normal or healthy weight, are at increased risk for many serious diseases and health conditions, including the following:1,2,3
  • type 2 diabetes
  • high blood pressure
  • heart disease and strokes
  • certain types of cancer
  • sleep apnea
  • osteoarthritis
  • fatty liver disease
  • kidney disease
  • pregnancy problems, such as high blood sugar during pregnancy, high blood pressure, and increased risk for cesarean delivery (C-section)
BOOM BOOOM

Not of that matters if you prevent the virus from entering the country. If the United States had done what TAIWAN did, few if any of those people with those conditions would have been infected.

AGAIN, one death VS 92,000+ deaths. You have nothing to stand on. The only thing that explains that difference is failed government policy.

And yet Joe you ain't black attacked Trump as racist for restricting travel from China and then again when he restricted travel from Europe.

Also, the virus isn't going away. As our population has been more exposed, more people will be immune. Taiwanese on the other hand by having so few people exposed will be far more vulnerable to future flare ups. Didn't think that one through, did you?

Restricting travel from just one country is STUPID and does nothing. TAIWAN restricted travel from anywhere outside TAIWAN in January. Trump did not do that until late March.

TAIWAN is largely free of the virus and does not have to worry about it which is why they have opened up. The only place where strong restrictions are in place are when people come into TAIWAN from the outside world. Anyone arriving in TAIWAN is locked in isolation for a minimum of 14 days. They have to test negative multiple times before they are let out of isolation and allowed to move about the country.

Taiwan only has 7 deaths from covid-19. The United States has 160,000+ deaths and its rising by over 1,000 deaths a day. By this time next year, how many Americans will be dead from Covid-19? How many people in Taiwan dead from Covid-19? Which country, Taiwan or the United States did a better job of protecting their citizens from a dangerous pandemic?

Trump shut down the source first, China. Of course that makes sense.

Then he did Europe, which you lied and said he didn't do. That while you kept bringing up cases were coming from Europe.

All that while Democrats called him a racist for China then attacking him for Europe, you keep saying we need to elect more Democrats.

Obviously you don't care about the Biden virus other than for it's politicization opportunity. Every death is a celebration to you, run to the nearest message board!

Also, you obviously know nothing about Asian culture. We could never have shut down the US to the extend Taiwan shut down.

And I know this doesn't fit the narrative so you keep ignoring it, but we are developing a population immune to the Biden virus and Taiwan isn't. That they are over this is another of your lies. They are very vulnerable to it

If the United States had been doing as well as TAIWAN over the past 3 months on a per capita basis, it would of had less than 700 infections and less than 15 deaths.

TAIWAN has for the most part returned to normal. Bars, Clubs, sporting events, churches, schools, places of work in TAIWAN are open. Mask wearing is only mandatory on public transportation. New infections when they occur are contained through Testing, Contact Tracing, Isolation of potentially infected people for 14 days. Anyone coming into the country, even citizens of Taiwan, are put into isolation for 14 days immediately. They are only allowed out after multiple tests show they are negative for the virus. On average in TAIWAN, most days see no new infections. No one has died in TAIWAN since May 11, 2020. If a new outbreak were to occur in TAIWAN, the mechanisms are in place to shut down if need be to kill the virus outbreak. Life and the economy have returned to normal without any sacrifice to public health in Taiwan. This is because of sound national government policy in the early days of the pandemic and continued monitoring and assessment of the situation.

In deep contrast to TAIWAN, the UNITED STATES is currently suffering an average of 64,000 new infections and 1,129 new deaths, EVERY DAY! The situation in the United States is worse than the March/April time period in terms of infections. Back in mid-April, new daily infections peaked in the United States at an average of 32,000 per day, half of the current average daily infection rate now. Average daily deaths were running at about double the current average rate but that seems less like an improvement given that the daily death rate in the United States has been rising consistently every day since JULY 5, 2020. There is no national strategy in the United States for containing and destroying the virus. You have 50 states that are operating independently of each other in terms of policies about what is open and mask wearing. This strategy has been a TOTAL FAILURE! The United States has the 9th highest rate of per capita infection out of the 197 countries on the planet. The United States has the 10th highest rate of per capita deaths out of the 197 countries on the planet.

So, you will be moving to Taiwan when?
Haha! You think Taiwan is going to let Americans into their country?

We are becoming what Trump referred to as “shithole”. Most countries don’t want people from COVID hotspots coming in.

Yep, we are becoming a shithole...thank you liberals.

Cmon dude, which party is creating the conditions for COVID to run rampant?

Democrats since they attacked Trump whenever he acted to contain it. You broke it, you own it. It's the Biden virus now

Nope. Democrats were telling Trump to take it seriously when he was busy telling people it was magically going to go away.

Democrats called Trump a racist for restricting travel from Taiwan then attacked him again for restricting travel from Europe where most of the cases were coming from.

That Democrats took it seriously was more of your being the Monday morning quarterbacking party.

Democrats can't tell you shit about what will happen, but count on them every day to tell you they told you so about what happened in the past anyway!

Yeah, I ask people for evidence of all these Democrats criticizing Trump for restricting travel to China and the best they can do is give me links of Pelosi opposing visas for several African nations.

Y’all just make shit up, honestly.

You're just a flat out liar. You've seen the clip of Biden calling Trump a racist for the China travel restriction lots of times
No we have not. We saw Biden pointing out Trump's history of xenophobia, but it was not in relation to the Travel ban. In fact, Biden's campaign put out the following statement:

Joe Biden supports travel bans that are guided by medical experts, advocated by public health officials, and backed by a full strategy,”

Actually, all the United States had to do is what TAIWAN did on January 20, 2020 and seal the country off from foreign business and travel

How was president Trump supposed to do that when Dem leaders were till telling people not to worry about the virus and Trump was a racist for even suggesting it in Feb.

How was president Trump supposed to do that when Dem leaders were till telling people not to worry about the virus and Trump was a racist for even suggesting it in Feb.
Trump never suggested it in February. People were marching off planes from China with little more than a temperature check.

He didn’t have to completely shut down travel, just quarantine and test those who do.

When you start out by comparing cases, you show right there you don't have a fucking clue what you are talking about and you know nothing about this. You can't compare cases because the data is collected so radically different. And the more tests you do, the more confirmed cases you have. Democrats melted down when we weren't doing enough tests. Then when we tested more you melt down because the tests are finding more cases. Duh ...

Comparing deaths is still very dubious, but it's more measurable than cases at least. Congrats on the deaths though, glad that made you so happy

So are you suggesting that TAIWAN has a low infection rate because they are not testing enough? Only one person has died from Covid-19 in Taiwan since May 1, 2020, so that seems highly unlikely.

Taiwan is open, people going about their normal daily lives. Why? The infection rate is tiny, so tiny that only one person has died since May, and when there are infections, TAIWANS contact tracers go out and isolate anyone that has come into contact with the infected person.

In the United States, there is no contact tracing. The number of cases is impossibly too high to do effective contact tracing.

You gave per capita deaths globally. I wasn't just talking about Taiwan

I did, but my main point is the difference in infections and deaths between TAIWAN and the United States over the past 3 months. Only one person dead in Taiwan, while the United States has 92,000+ dead. That difference between TAIWAN and the United States shows just how badly the United States has failed in fighting this pandemic.

...there are MANY HUGE differences between Taiwan and the US
DUH

There are some, but not enough to account for the fact that they only have ONE DEATH from covid-19 over the past three months while the United States has 92,000+!

There is NOTHING that TAIWAN did, that the United States does not have the capability to do. NOTHING! The United States is a wealthier and more powerful country than Taiwan, and thousands of miles further away from where the virus started. It has less trade, travel and other contact links with China than TAIWAN does.
some? not enough to account?? wrong
--Taiwan the country has 11 million tourists per year
--New York City alone has 60 million!!!! more than twice Taiwan's population
--the US has more international airports
--the US has MANY more large, dense cities
--the BIG one: Americans FOUR times as obese as Taiwanese !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! end of story
etc
--

The President and the U.S. congress had the power to seal the entire country off from the rest of the World. That is what Taiwan did on January 20, 2020. Taiwan has more people arriving from China for various reasons, on a per capita level, every day than the United States. But that is not relevant when all you have to do seal off and block all foreign travel.

The United States grounded all aircraft in the United States for days after September 11, 2001 terror attacks. It has the power to seal off all forms of entry into the country from the outside world.

THERE IS NOTHING THAT TAIWAN DID, THAT THE UNITED STATES DOES NOT HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO DO! NOTHING!
WRONG---huge differences
...the virus was ALREADY in !!! didn't matter if we were cut off

There is no proof that the Virus was in the United States on January 20, 2020 or before that date. None. Even if a few samples are produced, it would not constitute a level of infection that would equal community spread.

Again, TAIWAN has only 7 total deaths while the United States has 150,000+ deaths and rising.

Most Americans know that the Trump administration FAILED to protect the country, especially given how well TAIWAN has done. This is why Trump will be defeated in November and the Democrats will take back the Senate.
first you said there were not many differences --and I proved you wrong
..now you bring up other babble

There are few differences between Taiwan and the United States. The only real factor is government policy and action. What explains the difference in the number of deaths and infections between Taiwan and the United States is different government policy and action.
...hahahhahahahaaha--your mind is warped by your HATE of whites/Mr Trump/etc
...you ARE out of your cotton picking mind = few differences--hahahhahahaahah-after I just listed them......ahahahahahahha

I look forward to November 3, 2020 when the Democrats will increase their control of the House Of Representatives, gain control of the U.S. Senate, and gain control of the White House. Then will only be 3 months away from enacting sound policy to contain and destroy the virus starting in January 2021. I say this as a lifelong registered Republican.

Ding, ding, ding! You're being a partisan hack. This is just to attack Trump while your party said they would have been worse. Democrats are always about the politics. That's why you keep dancing over every death

The United States had a chance to be like TAIWAN it failed. We have a chance to be like Italy at least, but have so far failed to do that as well. WHY? Government policy has failed the country, primarily Donald Trump and any Republicans and Democrats that have failed to do what is necessary to contain and defeat the virus.

TAIWAN proves that it is government policy that is getting thousands of Americans killed! That is the only real difference between TAIWAN and the United States! Government Policy!

JOE BIDEN CALLED TRUMP A RACIST FOR TRYING TO CONTAIN THE VIRUS ... TWICE. OVER CHINA THEN EUROPE.

You can't hide from the facts, scum bag.

You admitted this is about electing Democrats for you. But Biden TOLD YOU he'd have been worse

Trump did not block travel from Europe until long after he had blocked it from China. Blocking travel from just one country did nothing. So naturally, it begs the question of why you would block travel from just one country. TAIWAN blocked travel from all countries on January 20, 2020 because the leadership in TAIWAN knew that a pandemic could enter the country from anywhere do to the nature of transmission and spread.

Didn't think that one through, did you?
good call ..they complained when Mr Trump wanted to restrict travel

Trump only wanted to restrict travel from one country, CHINA. That is not how a pandemic works. The virus does not care about borders or particular countries. Blocking travel from ONE country does not block the virus. New York City was seeded by Coronavirus that came in from Europe.
wow---NYC has over twice as many tourists as Taiwan has people!!!! and that's not a difference???!!!!!!
..it was in NYC long before anyone knew

It's incredible how Biden kept attacking Trump for acting, now they keep whining he didn't act fast enough as if they knew better. Democrats are the Monday morning quarterbacking party. What they tell you about the future is always wrong, but they will always tell you they knew all along what they didn't tell you until after it happened.

Want to know what lottery numbers won yesterday? Ask a Democrat! They'll tell you what they are and that they knew those would be the numbers all along, though they never mentioned that they knew until after it happened

Blocking travel from just one country is not acting. Its completely ineffective to fight a pandemic. It was not until late March, that Trump put in the same restrictions that TAIWAN put in back on January 20, 2020.

Also, the political office holders who still think the virus is nothing more than the flu and dependent on your DNA will be thrown out of office on November 3, 2020. Actually, lying sack of shit scum bag, Trump initiated the Europe travel ban and then Biden and the Democrats attacked him for it. All you do is lie

The only effective way to seal the United States off from the rest of the world is the enact on travel ban on all countries around the world. That is what TAIWAN did on January 20, 2020. The United States did not take that step until late March 2020, two months after TAIWAN did. By then, it was too late.

That's because it was only a bridge to ONE country that Trump was closing. It only works when you close every bridge to every country on the planet. That is what TAIWAN did on January 20, 2020.
