Unconstitutional: Law banning marijuana users from possessing firearms

Agreed.
And am no fan of this ruling at all.
Having said that, the reality is that weed is everywhere now, legal in many states, and it's a pointless exercise to try to prevent someone from buying a firearm who has used marijuana or continues to. It's like trying to hold up a 2X4 to stop a tidal wave.
But you're correct: alcohol and drugs really don't mix with firearms usage.
Both should be legal. Freeman rings.

To prove intoxication you must prove impairment.

Pac Man is not impaired. Michael Phelps was not impaired.

You are exhibit A of a complete moron who religiously parrots Fox Faux News and a JDAAC preacher. IF those two say the same lie, you are certain the lie is true. That's your definition of "proof."

You aren't a conservative. Your demographic is always bitching and whining and wanting ever bigger government to do more, including paying for your 12 daily Pfizer pills.

You are a disciple of LBJ and W, the two most left wing biggest government biggest spending Presidents (until homO) and the two worst traitors in US history with the least conservative foreign policy.
now thats an actual definition and not a rant,,

I also agree with it, so you didnt need to revert to insults,,

Worse news for us gun owners…
How long until the first Begligent Discharge (no such thing as accidental) by some drug user injures a kid?
Alcohol and drugs have nonpksce anywhere there are firearms. Never have and never will.

Blanket statements like that simply do not work. I've known many a person who could smoke and drink all day that I still fully trusted them to handle a gun, conversely, I've known stone sober people who should never go within a mile of any firearm.

Gun ownership confers responsibility and most responsible people either don't use intoxicants or know when they have had too much to handle a gun.

I'd say the bigger worry is a lot of stoner leftists previously blocked from buying a gun that now might. If the assassination attempt rate of Trump goes up now, that might indicate something.

Pot causes psychosis, psychosis leads to violence,

Ahhh--- NO.

Cannabis can intensify or trigger mental illness in people who already suffer from some mental infirmity or propensity towards mental illness. It can also do many positive things like calm nerves, dull pain, help people sleep, aid in religious ceremonies. But it doesn't necessarily /cause/ anything.

Some of the smartest, sanest men in history were pot smokers.

Nor does psychoses lead to violence. Many psychotics are violent, many are not. It depends on the condition and circumstances.

is "the science" not actual science....

a mentally ill person tries pot.

the person remains mentally ill.

Govt concludes pot caused mental illness.... = "the science"

How do you plan on regulating all of this?

I’ve never known a person I’ve trusted in my almost 52 years on this planet. Armed or not.

My concern is that people who make bad choices with alcohol and drugs now being given increased access to firearms is going to create issues that will give the Leftists even more cause to try to take the guns away from everyone.

Yeah, I've kinda gotten that impression from your posts.

What makes you think it is always a "bad choice?" You do not know every person's needs, reasons or situation on the planet. Try to come down to Earth. Further, if they really are that cracked in the head, dangerous and intending violence, don't you think they already COULD or would have gotten a gun?

Fact is there is no legal basis to deny someone their constitutional right based solely on them having a drink or smoking a joint.

Same broken record of BS from the Only Israel Matters crowd...

Michael Phelps
Sha Carrie Richardson
PacMan
LeVeon Bell

What did they do as marijuana users?

The idea that marijuana causes "intoxication" is a BS big government left wing scare tactic religiously parroted by the same treasonous morons that gave us Prohibition.

Marijuana, alcohol, drugs all cause intoxication. This aint difficult. We don't need more laws infringing on the 2nd. It should be common sense, not a law, that you shouldnt be playing with guns while you're intoxicated.

I icecin a regal marijuana state. One where medical marijuana was legal for years before decriminalizing it. I have three of the most common diseases for which it’s used (seizures, glaucoma and anxiety). None of my doctors ever even talked about it, never mind suggesting it to replace my current meds. That suggests to me it’s not the wonderful cure-all supporters want to make it out to be.

On the “pain reduction” issue.. cry me a river. There are plenty of pain management medications out there; abd if you don’t like those do what I do - 4 Extra Strength Tylenol every 5-8 hours. That’s what I use post-surgery every time I get cut open.
