Unbelievable Anticipation and Excitement reaching 11 on a scale of 1 to 10!

There is no 5G where we live....and 4G if we are lucky, gets 1 bar, we were 3G and roaming until about 3 years ago....

It really is a disadvantage to living Rural and essentially in the woods...technology inept....that and no Pizza delivery or any food delivery, what so ever! The nearest town is still close though....less than 5 miles and there is a major grocery store, subway, McD's, couple of banks, laundromat, pizza place, tiny tiny movie theater, 3 or 4 Pubs;Bars, couple of locally owned restaurants, a local hardware store with a nursery, a Duncan Donuts, a lumber yard, the Post Office....actually two...one a mile or so from us and the main one in the Town over....which has a population if about 7000 people in Summer, maybe half that in the winter... They have had a couple of broadband choices, but NOT here...even though only the 5 mile distance?

Sounds perfect. My neighbor threw his TV away last week. Help others, study nature, read. Pizza. That's enough.

It's been a blessing in many ways though...the hubby and I lived in the fast lane in Massachusetts prior to moving, Away from it All...good paying jobs...all conveniences that anyone could ever dream of, a mid size home with humongous property taxes  (good ole Taxsachusetts), and Boston with all the cultural things and sports, the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins etc...Boston 40 minutes away when no traffic, hour and a half in a bad rush hour jam...food delivery of any kind and we had fiber optics 20 years ago!

However, here...we have learned to 'smell the roses', slow down, enjoy nature and all of its fabulous creatures and landscape, learned self reliance...no body here to help you, except yourself and good neighbors...it's been an eye opening and simply wonderful experience that everyone should try, before they die....don't wait till your too old though...it's far more enjoyable when you can still do things like hiking, exploring parks and trails, boating and fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting....lots to do here outside, but ya gotta love winter and snow to keep activities going year round.

Good for you, my parents are still in good health and enjoying life.

We have been waiting 19 years for Broadband High Speed Internet....

So many promises of getting it in our neck of the woods over the decades...

First Verizon
Then Fair Point
Then Spectrum starting 12 years ago said they were coming to our rural area....SIGN UP NOW! still not here
Then Consolidated Communications starting 5 years ago made promises.

And then Biden passed the infrastructure bill...and honestly I had a little hope for maybe finally getting some sort of broadband, but then DOGE showed up and they said the money was being cancelled! Boo Hoo!

But today the Installer showed up....I've known he was coming for 2 weeks, but was scared to even talk about for the fear of the Curse of the Broadband Internets falling upon me, if spoken!

He knocked on the door about an hour ago....

AND WE MISSED Broadband High Speed altogether and are going straight to Fiber Optics...HOLY MOLY Mother of Jebus!

We are suppose to be going from 5-10 MB to 1 Gig in speed! I hope it gets hooked up today!!! He's outside running it from the main road to our outside pole and the pole down at my neighbor's house and then from the pole in our yard, underground through a pipe and in to the house, and then setting up!!!

Can't wait!
Grats, enjoy the new high speed!

Does this mean you posts will be of better quality or the same old leftist-lite drivel? ;)

Just hackin' on ya, congratulations! :)

Nah, it will be the same old partisan bs, you'll just get it faster...

😆 I KID!! I KID!!!!
