HALIFAX A website dedicated to helping people manage their R-R-S-Ps is suggesting Canadians do something patriotic and consider retiring on Hans Island in the High Arctic.
Ownership of the 1.3-kilometre-wide island, located in between Ellesmere Island and Greenland, is the subject of a dispute between Canada and Denmark.
Given that the tiny atoll is often dwarfed by icebergs, Efficient Market Canada says living there year round would be tough.
But retiring there much like Florida Snowbirds, but in reverse would be "a heroic act of patriotism."

Tongue-in-cheek, the website says some people may find the icy desolation and utter isolation of a remote Arctic island a refereshing break from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew is slated to meet his Danish counterpart in September at the United Nations to talk about Hans Island.
Denmark's foreign minister said Monday that a patrol ship headed to the island would not land troops.
Also the crew will not tear down a Canadian flag erected on the tiny rock
