France had over 42,000 yesterday and they have only 66M citizens and far lower testing rates. Even Jolly old England had 20,000 (UK) and Italy 20,000 and they have 60M population. So they are at least on par, with FAR less testing (and probably stricter means to diagnose).

Canada has also had a major surge, especially in Quebec and Ontario. Again, with far lower testing and we are a sparsely populated jurisdiction, making it exponentially easier to manage, at least in theory.

As I told someone who caught the virus in Canada and was very upset, as they said they did everything possible. Hid in their basement, wore a mask and gloves, social distanced, etc. "It's not your fault, this virus is going to work it's way through the population until their is a vaccine. Period". We can run and hide, hope and pray, we can try our best, if we have unfortunate luck, we will catch it".

Anyone who blames this on a politician, and even policies, hasn't been following the data. I have seen plenty of databases and the variety of different nations approaches, I am convinced that full shut down are not only ineffective long term, but, they are also harmful.

1. The average age of those contracting COIVD is 23-34 years of age. These people are mostly asymptomatic and have no symptoms but a re highly infectious. they get over this in about 10-14 days.

2. This age group has very few problems with this virus.
