This could call for amending the 2nd. amendment. All Americans are becoming alarmed over the increase in gun violence taking place both in the schools and otherwise.
It's about time to stop blaming the guns and start blaming the culture of violence.

Can changes to the 2nd. amendment address the problem?

The anti-gun side has repeatedly failed to find a solution. It could be time to turn to gunowners and tell them to take responsibility before the situation explodes into allout violence in the streets for political purposes.

Amendments can only be repealed by amending the Constitution.

Good luck with that.

I'm thinking of changes to attitudes in America that make guns so popular. That will then require a time period in which America isn't fighting a war in some foreign land.

We all should know by now that it's not the guns to blame, it's the hands that hold the guns.

Could the 2nd. amendment be changed to make it a crime to express a need for violence with guns? A ban on the use of human silouette targets that are a direct expression of a need to kill fellow Americans?

A ban on weapons that are made especially for the killing of other Americans?

Spending more money on mental health issues would be a good start. But does the pictured shooter have a mental health problem or does he have an attitude problem that has been created by being a victim of racism?

Is he shown just about being ready to deal with the problem?

And do any Americans care enough to try to make changes?

If we banned communists and Marxists, the number would drop down to near zero.

There's no way to ban people of the two opposite extremes. You can't ban people. But more moderate attitudes can be encouraged and be rewarded.

Trump has used extremism to further his agenda and that's the reason why I oppose Biden being president again. At least verbally as a foreigner.

Well let's see....

The Colorado Springs shooter identified as non binary.

The Denver shooter identified as trans.

The Aberdeen shooter identified as trans.

The Nashville shooter identified as trans.

Would you like to outlaw these people from having guns since they can't seem to handle the testosterone and subsequent aggression.

In fact, pretty much all shooters are males, or at least those with testosterone being pumped into them, so why not outlaw female to male transitions?

Not outlaw, rather discourage all extremism.

There's some promise in your attitude, as I've already said.

In Canada we don't feel a pressing need to kill burglars, we instead try to concentrate on stopping burglars.

It's a totally different attitude on the best use of guns, that has nothing to do with killing each other.

No, actually, they didn't...that is a lie....from Mother Jones and their mass public shooting data base....I did not include colleges or university shootings, just high school and below.....

Maybe if the FBI will release the Nashville shooter's manifesto more understanding might be gleaned.

As it is now I'll just consider them all as a threat since they are mental deviants anyway.
You could have a valid point on concentrating on the attitude of your FBI and other police.

Can you feel the anger rising on this thread? It's going to drive this discussion from now on. Maybe their anger and frustration will drive them to considering solutions?

Or will they fall silent when they realize that they've been pranked into taking part in the discussion about the rise in gun violence?

Sometimes devious methods become necessary!

Who says you have to kill them with a gun?

Just take a shot gun and take them out at the knees.

Keeps the family safe, and stops them from stealing for the rest of their lives.

Dipshit.........these idiot, anti-gun extremists count an adult male, on a saturday night, committing suicide in the empty parking lot of a closed school.....you doofus.

They also count gang members shooting at other gang members at football games....

These are not mass public school shootings....that is how they lie.

Welcome to the discussion, and welcome to your lies too!
The main point being, stirring anger in you and your ilk is the reason why I'm trying a new and different approach.
I hope we can get another emotional response from 14Shooter too.

2022 - 1.

Attempts at denial are especially valuable to taking on the challenge! Spamming and namecalling won't be opposed by me. That has never worked for me.

Let's all hope that the moderators will allow it to flow naturally on this section of the forum?

They add up all the incidents for the last 21 years to get a number to scare people........you have to read the report to understand what they are doing....you doofus.

And they don't go into detail on what exactly happened...so they can hide what exactly happened...

In the chart on page 5 they lie.....and include a shooting at a school board meeting......using that as one of their number......this is all anti-gun b.s.

Includes one active shooter incident at a county board of education meeting.
Includes one active shooter incident at a city school board meeting.

From 2000 to 2021, at elementary and secondary schools, there were
• 46 active shooter incidents (figure 1);
• 0 to 6 active shooter incidents per year;
• 276 casualties (108 killed and 168 wounded) as a result
of active shooter incidents;13 and
• 0 to 81 casualties per year from active shooter
incidents.
From 2000 to 2021, there were 47 active shooters responsible for the 46 incidents at elementary and secondary schools. Of the 47 active shooters,
• 46 were male and 1 was female;
• 34 were 12 to 18 years old;
• 5 were 19 to 24 years old; and
• 8 were 25 years old and above. (Violent Deaths at School

and Away From School, School Shootings, and Active Shooter Incidents)

Then you have this.....notice......the following definitions are how they include a guy shooting himself on a Saturday night in the school parking lot......

The SAVD-SS defines a school-associated violent death as “a homicide, suicide, or legal intervention death (involving a law enforcement officer), in which the fatal injury occurred on the campus of a functioning elementary or secondary school in the United States.” School-associated violent deaths also include those that were documented to have occurred while the victim was on the way to or from regular sessions at school or while the victim was attending or traveling to or from an official school- sponsored event. School-associated violent deaths include not only students and staff members but also others at school, such as students’ parents and community members.
Also...
“a gun is brandished,
is fired, or a bullet hits school property for any reason, regardless of the number of victims,
time of day, or day of week.”

We had a local vet commit suicide in the play ground of the local school.....after hours....at night.........he would be included in this stupid bullshit.

If anti-gun activists and their fake researchers didn't lie, they wouldn't have anything to say in the gun debate...
