Trump's promises to be kept......or not?

Possible but I believe he will end up pissing them off like Bush Jr. did at the end...

Donald Trump entered office with an equal favorability to George Bush's approval rating upon leaving office.

I had said it before. Whatever candidate wins would leave office in 4 years being the most hated in US history. I also predict the lowest global leadership ratings ever.

Trump might surprise us all and turn around and be decent when it is all said and done with...

Fact: There has never been a decent president, with the notable exception of William Henry Harrison.

If you believe any of the presidents have been decent, then you have low standards for what constitutes decency.

Are you Libertarian?

Here's a quick list of Trump's promises.........You choose the ones he will (or not) keep:

1. Will he prosecute Hillary Clinton?

2. Will he release his tax returns after the so-called audit (or was there ever an audit)?

3. Will a 2000 miles wall be built.....and will Mexico pay for it?

4. Will Trump deport 11 million so-called illegals?

5. Will Trump ban the entry of Muslims to our country?

6. Will Trump sever ties with NATO if they don't pay more to the coalition?

7. Will he repeal the ACA.....and what will "replace" it?

8. Will Medicare be privatized?

9.Will Social Security be privatized?

10. Will tax loopholes be eliminated from the tax code?

11. Will all current trade agreements be renegotiated?

12. Will coal miners get their jobs back?

There are many, many more....but for now, the above will do.....

P.O.Shit trump's followers aren't interested in results. The only emotion they had that desperately needed to be filled was their surrogate grandpa to tell them they were good people. They are wholly at odds with the natural course the society is taking and they just want to close their eyes and wake up in 1951 when daddy was reading his paper on the couch and mommy was in the kitchen cooking meatloaf and black people could still be made to sit at the back of the bus.

These people have been left behind by the society as it has changed over the past 50 years. And they were near suicide because of it. Enter their immoral grandpa to tell them they'll be ok, that he'll turn the world back to 1951 and they will get to watch Lucy, and drive their Edsel, and hide in their bunker. (hiding in a bunker is a never ending thing for these folks, ever notice?). P.O.Shit trump is the last violent convulsion of this body of outdated beliefs and nostalgia before it dies. But they get to feel good for a couple years and like a crack addict that was having horrific withdrawal symptoms who finds a 2 pound stash they are giddy and medicated for a year or two.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Well Isaac you might have been correct had it not been for the 2010 election and the 2014 election that ushered out the Democrats from the House and Senate and this election kept the Senate GOP and gave the White House to Trump...

So the death you are seeing is one that has yet to happen, and I ask you why?

Is it racism and if so then seeing Hillary Clinton is white make no sense why white people rejected...

is it sexism?

If so then can you explain why Hillary Clinton did so poorly with white women voters?

So as you write about the Trump voter turning back the clock maybe it has to do with moving too fast and forcing people to change to your way of thinking?

Now many of you will attempt to bait me into some flame war contest but let me state I am pro-gay rights, support abortion rights, and believe everyone should be treated equal as long as you do not demand I pay for your lifestyle and choices...

So as you write how this election is about a select group of people dying out I need to ask you do you believe your agenda resonate with minority groups like Hispanics\Latinos and Asian Americans?

If so why did they fail Clinton this election cycle like the white woman vote did?

Are you Libertarian?

It depends. You guys seem to think that a libertarian is a centrist or moderate, which it is not.

However, I am an anarchist. I do not believe in rulers.

Can you please provide where I ever wrote that because I for one never wrote anything like that...

There are different forms of Libertarianism just like Communism, Socialism and Conservatism...

I was just asking and wondering the form you subscribe to so I can further discuss with you...

1. Will he prosecute Hillary Clinton?
Nope, nor should he. If a smoking gun comes out she will be prosecuted.

2. Will he release his tax returns after the so-called audit (or was there ever an audit)?
Nope. There is literally zero reason to do so.

3. Will a 2000 miles wall be built.....and will Mexico pay for it?
Possibly though all 2K will not likely be a solid wall.

4. Will Trump deport 11 million so-called illegals?
Again, possibly. He will at least push for these 2 things.

5. Will Trump ban the entry of Muslims to our country?
Nope.

6. Will Trump sever ties with NATO if they don't pay more to the coalition?
Nope.

7. Will he repeal the ACA.....and what will "replace" it?
Nope.

8. Will Medicare be privatized?
Nope.

9.Will Social Security be privatized?
Nope.

10. Will tax loopholes be eliminated from the tax code?
Yes. This one will be easy for him to do and will be politically smart. He will not, IMHO, eliminate any that matter though like the ones he has used extensively.

11. Will all current trade agreements be renegotiated?
Not all but some will.

12. Will coal miners get their jobs back?
No.

I was just asking and wondering the form you subscribe to so I can further discuss with you...

I told you, I am an anarchist. The only legitimate libertarian.

Everyone else is a fraud.

You're welcome to your opinion just like I am welcome to mine... It is like Stalin and Trotsky arguing which form of their Marxism is true Marxism...

( I say Trotsky )

I will never subscribe to the Anarchist school of thought but will show you the respect for your way of thinking. We will disagree much and I am fine with it...

America can not live under the Anarchist way of life because of her mere size. I would love the idea of no government or little of it but humans are not trained in the head to govern that way... Well most are not...

Now getting back to Trump... Trump is not Conservative nor is he Neoconservative... Am I correct you are the one that keep on calling him the populist candidate?

If so is he Volkisch to you?

Yes to 1,3,4,5,7, and 12. These are going to happend.

Here's a quick list of Trump's promises.........You choose the ones he will (or not) keep:

1. Will he prosecute Hillary Clinton?

He will have a special prosecutor. Cant say if she will be indicted or convicted until after the evidence

2. Will he release his tax returns after the so-called audit (or was there ever an audit)?

Yeah he will, and noone will still care

3. Will a 2000 miles wall be built.....and will Mexico pay for it?
Yes

4. Will Trump deport 11 million so-called illegals?
He modified it, they will not become citizens unless they leave first. He will deport the violent criminals asap.

5. Will Trump ban the entry of Muslims to our country?
He changed it duri g th campaign, he will deny syrians and will vette any questionable people

6. Will Trump sever ties with NATO if they don't pay more to the coalition?

No, he just wont defend them, but theyll pay

7. Will he repeal the ACA.....and what will "replace" it?

He will replace it with HSAs and allow competition in all the states

8. Will Medicare be privatized?

He never promised this

9.Will Social Security be privatized?

He never promised this

10. Will tax loopholes be eliminated from the tax code?

Yes, the carried interest will go bye bye and some others

11. Will all current trade agreements be renegotiated?

Any we dont like, Canada and mexico have already agreed to redo NAFTA

12. Will coal miners get their jobs back?

Yes

There are many, many more....but for now, the above will do.....

You're welcome to your opinion just like I am welcome to mine... It is like Stalin and Trotsky arguing which form of their Marxism is true Marxism...

Libertarianism has a very clear etymological definition and root. The centrists and moderates that pose as libertarians of today, know nothing of classic libertarian thought, or how to maximize liberty.

I will never subscribe to the Anarchist school of thought but will show you the respect for your way of thinking.

Right, because you are a dumbass.

America can not live under the Anarchist way of life because of her mere size.

Exhibit A

America is a social construct. Its borders are arbitrary and the concept is abstract. It only exists in your head.

I would love the idea of no government or little of it but humans are not trained in the head to govern that way... Well most are not...

Exhibit B

The definition of an anarchy is a society without rulers, and not a society without government. Anarchists believe in platforms that are horizontally organized and center around the principle of voluntary association.

Now getting back to Trump... Trump is not Conservative nor is he Neoconservative... Am I correct you are the one that keep on calling him the populist candidate?

He is a populist. His beliefs are derived from whatever stirs up his support base, and not what he actually has convictions for.

Nearly every populist movement in history has led to a despotic state. I am highly skeptical of what will come out of this administration.

What is your opinion on the Nixon-Kennedy plan?

WOW, almost 45 years ago a health plan that included mandates on purchasing insurance, for all businesses (small and large) to provide insurance to all workers, no preexisting conditions refusals, and.....I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) some cap on physicians' salaries.

Almost a half century later, we are STILL under the lobbying clutches of insurers, the AMA and the BBB..

Well, thank you also for answering the post......

A couple of questions and one statement.....

Lets suppose Italy cannot fully pay its NATO share, will they be ousted from NATO by Trump?

Second, WHO will buy the coal from coal miners since natural gas is much cheaper?

Finally, although Trump has nor addressed privatizing Medicare and SS, Ryan and McConnell certainly have.

Lol, Obama was the hope and change candidate and he got awarded lie of the year. Also he broke almost all of his campaign promises.

After you finish "laughing" and you check with a grown up, answer this...As promised:

Did Obama lower the unemployment rate?
Did Obama get OBL?
Did Obama get millions of uninsured people into a health plan?
Obama did nothing to lower the unemployment rate. In fact, he was largely responsible for the recession. The financial crisis he inherited led to the recession because it produced a shortage of capital, and many economists, especially from the left, urged him to quickly infuse large amounts of capital into the system to avert a recession, some pointing out that Sweden has successfully done this when they had had a financial crisis from the collapse of a real estate bubble, but Obama did nothing until it was too late, proving that he lacked the character to be a real leader.

No, he didn't get OBL. The search for OBL had been initiated by Bush and he was finally located by the CIA when Obama was president, but once again Obama lacked the character to make a decision and waited ten months after the CIA had told him where OBL and only decided to get him when his approval ratings were tanking.

Obamacare is already failing. A federal district court has already ruled that the subsidies are unconstitutional unless Congress appropriates money specifically for them, and Congress has so far refused to do that. Obama is appealing the ruling, but when Trump becomes president, he will withdraw the appeal, and Obamacare will collapse. The Democrats imposed Obamacare on an unwilling nation, driven more by ideological imperatives that real need, which could have been met more quickly, for less money and preserve more choices for people in other ways.

Too much stupid biases on your part to even respond to...Stay dumb...I don;t care.

First thank you for this post, its so much more fun to talk issues and not flame

Ill go backwards

Ss and medicare will not be privatized, but he may set up a second system that is voluntary to test, but you will still get medicare/SS the same way.

He will use all sources, coal is still pretty cheap

As for NATO, Im sure he would talk with them and renegotiate it either to get compensastion or change their role. He wont just kick them out, hell give them some chances to pay or changenthenrole.

We cant have it where they dont pay.

So as you write how this election is about a select group of people dying out I need to ask you do you believe your agenda resonate with minority groups like Hispanics\Latinos and Asian Americans?

I know that Isaac can well-answer for himself...My 2 cents:

Minorities and women did NOT adequately show up for Hillary because......well, because she is Hillary with her tons of baggage aired over the media outlets for decades. Any other decent candidate from the DNC, could have beaten Trump's populist stance and demagoguery.

However, educated women (those NOT simply following their old, white husbands' wishes) might have gone for the democrat candidate had it NOT been Hillary.

1. Will he prosecute Hillary Clinton?

Campaign rhetoric/attack--this would divide the country. He thanked her for her service and should move on.

2. Will he release his tax returns after the so-called audit (or was there ever an audit)?

He should do this sooner than later -- don't let it become his birth certificate. It will reveal what we already know, but just rip it off like a band aide.

3. Will a 2000 miles wall be built.....and will Mexico pay for it?

No. Extreme vetting, better border security--cost effect stuff. Let the U.S. Military deal with cartels. Wall is a waste of money--in order to work it would heed to above and below ground, hundreds of feet. And indestructible at ever point. I'm not sure his diehard supporters understand how much that would cost.

4. Will Trump deport 11 million so-called illegals?

If he really is as smart as he says then he knows stricter laws against those hiring undocumented workers is more cost effective.

5. Will Trump ban the entry of Muslims to our country?

No. Can't. SCOTUS and Congress won't let him. He can make vetting stricter and take longer.

6. Will Trump sever ties with NATO if they don't pay more to the coalition?

Another one that sounds good, but is extremely dicey.

7. Will he repeal the ACA.....and what will "replace" it?

Senate Dems will filibuster until there is a viable fix or replacement.

8. Will Medicare be privatized?

That's a 3rd rail issue -- interesting to see if Ryan gets his way. Medicare is in trouble because baby boomers are living longer because of better drugs. There is no easy fix for that except to raise the qualifying age and drastically cut benefits.

9.Will Social Security be privatized?

That's another 3rd rail issue -- interesting to see how it plays out. S.S. is in trouble because baby boomers are living longer because of better drugs. Again, no easy fix.

People younger than 40 can't imagine themselves getting old and so raising the retirement age, cutting benefits, all sounds good to them... Until their parents move back in with them and get sick.

Private for-profit heath care is too stubbornly entrenched in our country. We may have to experience another major financial collapse before we see the light on single payer socialize model. There's a false paradigm in the American Health Care Industry that high profit margins = success. No--healing patients, caring for the sick, especially for those who can't care for themselves--that is how the rest of the world defines success in their health care.

10. Will tax loopholes be eliminated from the tax code?

Hope so. But the death tax elimination will get filibustered--as it should.

11. Will all current trade agreements be renegotiated?

Hopefully just the bad ones. And hopefully Trump's people know which is which. If certain people get in with agendas for specific industries, then it will be a clusterfuck, doomed to fail.

12. Will coal miners get their jobs back?

Why? Natural gas is cheaper to produce. But that is one way Trump can keep those voters happy. Get a few mines open, never mind what we'll do with the stuff once we get it out of the ground.

Trump is realizing he's going to have a personnel problem--unlike Reagan, the best and brightest don't all want to work for him. A lot of names on the prospective lists for cabinet spot are senators, congressmen, lobbyists, and industry/finance people with agendas that don't include helping the rust belt rebuild.

I hope Trump supporters are keeping count--Newt is just as much a D.C. insider as Hillary. Newt championed NAFTA and helped get Clinton the votes. Any one with the title Senator or Congressman, or anyone with a Delaware or Virginia address-- all insiders. Just pay attention people.

so all of a sudden you are going to hold a politician to his campaign promises?

For a Trump who won the election based on telling and promising much to a pissed off portion of the electorate, hell, YES, I would like to know if reality trumps (pardon the expression) rhetoric....
Yeah, holding a wanna-be politician to campaign promises should NOT be a novel idea???

So as you write about the Trump voter turning back the clock maybe it has to do with moving too fast and forcing people to change to your way of thinking?

Now many of you will attempt to bait me into some flame war contest but let me state I am pro-gay rights, support abortion rights, and believe everyone should be treated equal as long as you do not demand I pay for your lifestyle and choices...
Here, Here. You nailed right on the head. That is what the left either doesn't know, or refuses to admit. Either way, it's not about rolling the clock back to some "simpler time". It's about not going full steam down the track in a blinding blizzard, not knowing if the rails will be there. It's about taking our time and doing it right, even if that means we don't see it getting done ourselves. It's about the American way, "anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time." That's how our Representative Republic has been able to stand the test of time when so many have not, and why oh, so many other countries emulate us in their own way. It's about "for the people, by the people".
