Trump's promises to be kept......or not?

1. Will he prosecute Hillary Clinton?

No.

2. Will he release his tax returns after the so-called audit (or was there ever an audit)?

No, and yes there was one.

3. Will a 2000 miles wall be built.....and will Mexico pay for it?

I believe walls will be built and maintained in urban regions and in rural and desert regions you will have sensors and drones... Mexico will not pay for it.

4. Will Trump deport 11 million so-called illegals?

Over time yes. Criminals that have done murder, rape and other felonies first if they are ready for release.

5. Will Trump ban the entry of Muslims to our country?

No. You might have it where countries like Syria will have more requirements but a ban will not happen.

6. Will Trump sever ties with NATO if they don't pay more to the coalition?

No.

7. Will he repeal the ACA.....and what will "replace" it?

Yes, and do not know.

8. Will Medicare be privatized?

No.

9.Will Social Security be privatized?

No.

10. Will tax loopholes be eliminated from the tax code?

No.

11. Will all current trade agreements be renegotiated?

Yes.

12. Will coal miners get their jobs back?

Yes.

Well, thank you for the detailed responses...as usual.

Just a quick question: How do YOU really know there was an audit of Trump's taxes?

The media accepted his audit excuse so I am going off what they accepted as my evidence...

Fact-Check: Donald Trump Can't Release His Taxes While Being Audited?
There is no law preventing you from putting your social security number and all your bank account numbers on the internet. There is no law agaibst you putting all your passwords on line. It is perfectly legal for you to release any information about yourself that you wish.

Should you?
Meh. I do not think for one hot second that Trump did not release his tax forms because of the audit. That is just a silly excuse.

He did not release them for the same reason that Hillary did not release her speeches, there was nothing at all to be gained from doing so politically. It is that simple. the only thing that would happen is that his political opponents would attack him for paying an incredibly small percentage of his overall income in taxes, attack his donations and attack his overall net worth which I think is far smaller than he claims.

In the end what would he gain? On balance simply not releasing them gained him far less ire than releasing thousands of pages of potential material that would have chased any Hillary scandals off the front page. He made a calculated decision and apparently is was the correct one.

I seem to recall a guy named Bill Clinton who, the day after the election, sent out his surrogates to announce he would not be keeping more than 50 of his campaign promises.

I don't...

And even if I did...

Hitler killed 6 million Jews... So is it OK for me to knock of a half a dozen?
If you loudly supported Hitler then it would be pretty hypocritical of you if you were condemning the next guy for knocking off those dozen. Of course the Hitler reference is pathetic and not even close to comparable.

in a nut shell - without reverting to asinine comparisons to Hitler - it is hypocritical to condemn a candidate for the same thing that another did that you praise. Do campaign promises matter or not? Consistency.

Although I fully agree that such was Trump's calculation, it opened up the "excuse" for all future candidates to hide even more from potential voters.

We've basically have gone from transparency to subterfuge (and Clinton is just as guilty with hiding her speeches.)

Possibly though I don't think the same calculation exists with other candidates. Trump received a lot of flak for hiding them. The difference is, I believe, that Trumps entire platform was on how rich and successful he is. Paying really low tax rates and finding out that he was actually worth billions less than his claimed 10 billion figure would have hurt him a LOT. That coupled with the fact that he needed Clinton to take the headlines created the perfect storm to hide his taxes.

I don't think that future candidates will have similar situations where it would benefit them. We will see about transparency - Obama has been extremely secretive through and set new precedent that is corrosive IMHO. Considering Trumps treatment of the media and his running against them I see him taking that to new heights. That will not bode well at all for open government - something that I think we are in sore need of.
