Trump's compromise solution seems reasonable. Why are Democrats opposing this?

The problem is that the Democrats don't want border security. Why? Cuz most of those illegals coming across the southern borders will mostly be future Dem voters. And of course Trump wants it, so they're against it.

I really hope that's not true, but it's hard to fathom why the Democrats are being so unreasonable about funding a border fence that they voted for several times between 2004 and 2013.

OTOH, Trump's compromise offer really does not offer much. A 3-year DACA extension is not much. Those kids and young adults need finality. America is the only country that most of them have ever known. Trump should not have to bribe the Democrats to get them to do the right thing about securing the border, but such is the political climate we face now.

there could be some areas left to add to the 700 miles of fence just recently finished, to close or repair some gaps that border patrol feels necessary, but they primarily want newer technology and manpower to secure it....

there will not be a 30 ft high, contiguous cement wall across the 2000 mile southern border.... that whole idea was always stupid is, as stupid does....
