so you are saying that none of the over 70 countries that have reached out will not make a new trade deal eh ? wow ! you need serious help ! lol ! but Dems live in the moment of their delusions .. if a trade deal isn't signed in 2 days y'all will claim Trump failed .. and when he makes trade deals in the coming weeks y'all will claim the aren't good enough .. we know how y'all think .. y'all are predictable ..
At the moment trillions of dollars of wealth has gone up in a puff of smoke both in the US and across the globe. The US bond market is under pressure. Consumer confidence is down as is his approval rating but apparently your thesis is that this was some kind of master plan and is "brilliant". So, by all means let's examine that thesis.
A plan usually means you have a consistent strategy. As far as I can see he didn't even plan enough to know that in certain areas the US is totally dependent on China, mainly electronic components, meaning that he has to show weakness and partially reverse his decision a few days after he imposed what amounts to a trade embargo with China.
As for the "oh, countries are lining up to make deals", first let me tell you. There's not a country in the world that's not looking for ways to decrease dependency on the US as we speak. Sure, some will strike deals. For sure, every single time he does Trump will tout it as the greatest deal in history, just like he did when he renegotiated the deals with Canada and Mexico, only to now poopoo it as horrible deals, and reimposing tariffs. The point is this. Every country which does will know that the US has no interest in holding up their end of whatever bargain is struck.
The US seems to think that it can piss off the entire world, friend and foe alike, without that world trying to find alternatives to the US. The hubris of it all is as staggering as it is dumb. Americans like to think of themselves as exceptional. I think they are going to find out, just like the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, British, and countless other "world powers", both big and small. That eventually the party ends. And it will happen on the word of a reality star game show host who is so wrapped up in his own delusions that he believes he truly is smarter than every single person in the world. A delusion shared by his loyal cult following.
