Trump will announce end of birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, officials say

Dude, the Chinese Exclusion act made immigration from China illegal. In 1882. Is that a "relatively new concept" in your world?

The Chinese Exclusion Act prevented people from coming here from China, it didn't make being here from China illegal, that was the point.

At the same time, people could freely travel up here from Latin America, and there were very few limits from Europe.

We see you stamping your feet as you chant this.,

Actually, the Courts are going to define it that way. Did you see how badly Trump got slapped down by a Reagan appointee?

LOL. So if they snuck in, in violation of the law they would be welcomed with opened arms, huh?

Did you expect him to deny the TRO?

It had nothing to do with birthright (the exclusion act). Wong decided birthright citizenship 127 years ago.

Exactly... all of which was meaningless because the 14th is clearly defined.

You are born here, you are a citizen. Period.

except for that pesky under the jurisdiction thereof part.

when the question was last asked in 1898 immigration laws were limited.

They don't get to decide that. They came here illegally, they pay the price.
Not when it comes to children citizens. If the parents have citizen households available for the children, they will stay. You have no EO or court ruling or legislation that says to the alternative.

If the parents want to take them with them, they can. Being a citizen doesn't override parental rights.

What they cant say is "let us stay because our anchor baby lets us"

No, if the parents broke the law and are here illegally, they get deported. It will be their choice whether to take any anchor babies with them or leave them here, under foster care.
