Trump will announce end of birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, officials say

Okay, was that was actually alledged by the Veteran (who had his VA card on him, apparently), or are you just making shit up to try to rationalize what ICE did?

No clarification needed, it's very clearly written.

before the concept of an illegal alien was even considered, and that includes the 1898 case the left keeps referencing.

So let's be clear here. An "illegal" alien is a relatively new concept, because before that, if you got here, you were in.

In fact, the 1898 decision was despite a ban on immigration from China, known as the Chinese Exclusion Act. The man in question had travelled several times between the US and China after being born here, but the fact he was born here made him a citizen.

Period. Full stop.

There didn't need to be. They were defining what "subject to the jurisdiction of" meant. They didn't intend for just anyone to come here and have a baby and that baby be a citizen.

Also, "alien" was a term used in the debates. It seems they didn't intend on the 14th being used as it is today
Well, they f-ed up the wording by not mentioning them. They also did not mention native Americans except in the part about "subject to the jurisdiction" because at the time they were not. They were subject to their own nations.

It doesn't apply to the current situation.

And we overturned Roe and Chevron recently. This would even be overturning anything, it would be simple clarification.

Are people here illegally and still citizens of another country covered under the concept of "subject to the jurisdiction of the US"?
The answer to that is "yes'. They are not subject to the jurisdiction of their home country. Does Mexico operate law enforcement in the US? No. Can Mexico order its diplomats home if they commit a crime? Yes. Can the US order Mexican diplomats home because they committed a crime? Not a chance. It's called diplomatic immunity.

The Constitution must be changed to prevent another court in the future from changing the "interpretation".

It's a concept that really took form in the mid 20th century when immigration laws were put in place, along with proper methods of immigrating here.

The difference is his parents were here before all these laws were passed defining the proper method of entering the country. So they did not come here illegally as there was no law defining such. The parents also came here before the Exclusion act.

Actually they are, as Trump is showing by deporting them back and them trying and failing to stop that from happening.

They are citizens of those countries, and they entered this one illegally. If they had green cards they would be under our jurisdiction.

He cannot, and will not be allowed to, deport citizens. Citizens who are minors and what happens to them will be determined by their parents.

The parents cant stay, they are here illegally. The kids can come back when they are 18.

Exactly... all of which was meaningless because the 14th is clearly defined.

You are born here, you are a citizen. Period.

Show us the quote from the veteran. Him saying actual words. Not someone else saying something. Him.

Dude, the Chinese Exclusion act made immigration from China illegal. In 1882. Is that a "relatively new concept" in your world?

Absolfuckinglutely. They are deported the next day.
