Those checks are balances have eroded for 2 reasons. First Trump either ignores the laws or redefines them to allow companies to gain more power. We have not had pure capitalism in this country. The capitalism in this country has been regulated or in other words there are checks and balances. Those checks are balances have eroded for 2 reasons. First Trump either ignores the laws or redefines them to allow companies to gain more power. Secondly, the laws that were passed are not adequate to protect this country against massive corporations.

Case in point. Disney recently acquired the Fox film library. They have already informed small independent theater owners that Fox titles will no longer be available. Disney will make more money while as much as 25% of independent theater owners' income will be cut.

Capitalism has one primary check on it...supply and demand.
