There are any number of reasons why this has failed everywhere it's been tried not the least of which is if you put people to work, you have to pay them minimum wage.

If they are working, you have to pay someone to supervise, and record their hours.

It was also impossible to get enough work for all those who were required to work and it put others out of work.

A parent should pay $10 a day for each child they send to daycare. Some of the former Snap Snatchers will be working in those day sites if they qualify. The only answer to poverty is to stop the poor from having kids. But in america we do the opposite and pay poor black women to have kids!!! Many states have introduced family caps which prevent welfare queens from getting bigger welfare checks after a certain number of kids.

Isn't sex Ed taught in school? What? You need someone to hold it for eee? How much does a rubber cost? BC pill? We already allow abortions! Next stupid idea?

They'll find that if you offer a job to someone on food stamps most people will jump at the chance. All humans want to get ahead in life and have financial security.

Problem is people aren't just going to OFFER you a job. You have to apply. Front page of my newspaper is story about a metal tube company needing 5-8 people NOW and another 8-10 as the year goes on. They can't find people! Not sure what it pays but manufacturing usually pays decent wages.

When I lived in Nevada it was in low income housing. Basically, no one worked. Most claimed disability of some sort. They passed the day by getting drunk, getting high, and fighting. Men too disabled to get out of the layzboy could chase their wives down the parking lot and beat the shit out of them. They were capable of beating one another up. Then friends depending on who had the weed and beer.

Not working was a vacuum in the lives of these people. They combated boredom with alcohol, drugs and irritation with one another just like rats in an overcrowded warren. The suggestion that these men and women work is insulting. They are poor. They are disabled. Work is for others.
