Trump wants $230,000,000.00 from the US taxpayer.

Note Trump sued the Wall Street Journal, and others for $10 Billion dollars, because they claimed the existence of an Epstein Birthday letter from Trump.
Well, congress has seen the letter and posted copies of it with all the authentications that Trump wrote it.

What do you think will happen to that lawsuit now?
It should get turned into a counter suit against Trump for making false and frivolous claims and degrading our legal system. Take from him what he was trying to take from them

Trump also said his new ballroom wouldn't interfere with the East Wing.
You sound like a child complaining that Daddy promised you a shinny red bicycle for Christmas but the one you got was blue

That’s not at all what he sounds like. He plainly called out a false claim by Trump and your reaction was to talk about kids and bicycles. Maybe you’ll get a mirror next Christmas

It'll come out of your pocket too, which is a delicious irony. Lawfare ain't cheap, you know.

Trump deserves to be made whole. The government tried to lock him up on political grounds. He had to spend vast amounts to stay a free man and be able to complete his bid for president.
No. The government tried to lock up somebody who stole TOP SECRET documents, and tried to OVERTHROW a federal election by telling his MAGA's to attack the very seat of government.

I'm sure if Trump hadn't been elected president in 2024, he would be in jail right now.

If you think Trump deserves $230 million dollars for this, then do you think all others who think they have been unfairly prosecuted should get the same? Or is Trump special?

No. The government tried to lock up somebody who stole TOP SECRET documents, and tried to OVERTHROW a federal election by telling his MAGA's to attack the very seat of government.
And they did not go after another politician who also stole TOP SECRET documents, used his office to ENRICH himself (and preemptively pardoned everyone involved) and tried to OVERTHROW a federal election by locking up the opposing candidate.

I'm sure if Trump hadn't been elected president in 2024, he would be in jail right now.
I'm not so sure about that, but since he was elected, we'll never need to go down that constitutional crisis road.

Trump is special

Libs played a game of Lawfare for the highest office in the land and lost

Biden didn’t lie and obstruct agents who tried to get the docs back. He cooperated. That’s the difference.

You don’t get to pretend to object to lawfare anymore after trumps attacks on Comey and co. You either stick to your principles and condemn that too or you stop whining about trumps treatment… you don’t get it both ways.

Why is lawfare different from any other unfair prosecution. Stuff that happens every day.

How’s it different from what happened to Hunter Biden or James Comey etc etc. do you condemn those prosecutions?

You sound like a child complaining that Daddy promised you a shinny red bicycle for Christmas but the one you got was blue
No, a comparison with what Trump said and did, is daddy promised me a shinny red bicycle, and instead he tore down the shed with my old bicycle in it, and threw everything into the dumpster.

What you leave out is Trump was guilty as hell.
Not only did he steal TOP SECRET documents, he got others involved in hiding them , and had his lawyers lie that he didn't have any of the documents they later found when they raided his home.

If you think about it. Trump suing for $230 million for being investigated (not even indicted) Is like Al Capone, suing the government over their investigations of him or indicting him for prostitution, loansharking, racketeering, bootlegging, and murder.

You don't get it both ways either. Either taking TOP SECRET documents out of secure places and storing them in your home is illegal for everyone or it's not.

Of course it’s illegal, as long as you can prove it was intentionally done.

The question is why you’re okay with Trump doing it.

You left out one important detail. The intent to take and retain those documents.

18 U.S. Code § 1924 - Unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material

(a)Whoever, being an officer, employee, contractor, or consultant of the United States, and, by virtue of his office, employment, position, or contract, becomes possessed of documents or materials containing classified information of the United States, knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.

Clearly Biden did not intend to retain the documents, because he gave them up as soon as he knew he had them.

Stupid question. This is not about me.

But as long as we're going down that road, why are you okay with Biden doing it?

Biden took them out of secure places. That's a crime. Why are you okay with that?
