Trump was quite an odious character when he first announced for President.
Even after he articulated a "platform" he was not convincing. It was not clear that he would execute the office as a Conservative. But he did.
In fact he personally has changed the character of the Republican Party, making it more pro-working class.
I'm on the figurative train. Like many others, I can't imagine why any patriotic American would not be.
