I know the libertarian and utilitarian arguments for letting these degenerates get stoned. But, I must point out that today's pot is not the pot you grew up with. Today's shit is much stronger and can lead to serious health and psychological issues. Plus, smoking pot is just so ... trashy. Also, today's pot smells really, really, REALLY bad. Sometimes when I am driving I get a big whoof of it sucked up and into my car with me. It lingers for far too long. I want to die when that happens so that I can stop experiencing someone else's ******* pot smoke. Or, when I am out with my dogs at night, I may catch a whiff of some neighbor's weed smoke. It is absolutely disgusting! It is nauseating, in fact. The only way to prevent this is to put a firecracker up each nostril and blast it!

Pot is gross. You may as well take a wet, warm dog turd, put it in your mouth and smoke it. By extension, pot smokers are gross. I will cut you some slack if you are old and have a terminal illness and are getting high to deal with adverse health effects. But that is it. Do you really need to get high? REALLY? You are so in need of a chill-down that you are willing to say "**** everybody!" and impose the smell, and your stupid stoned-ass behavior on everybody within 5 miles of you?!?!? Really? I used to brew Kava tea regularly about 20-25 years ago. I don't think you can get it anymore due to people damaging their livers by using too much of it.

But they do say long term excessive use can hurt you. I have never tried it but i heard its pretty cool.

I used to buy the root from a natural health store back in the day. I would brew that shit for about 1/2 hour and then drink it. It has an interesting tastes, and I soon grew to like it. However, it would make your mouth grow numb. I also tried the supplements when they were still on the market. I preferred the actual root. You could chew on the raw root and get the same effect too.

Kava did work for it. It produces a very nice and mellow calming effect that allows me to relax.

Comparing to alcohol or anything else is irrelevant. None of these things justify any other.
