Same reason the Vets have a specific line. They are a high risk group with specialized needs and issues. Connecting them with professionals trained to support those needs and issues gives a better chance of better support

If trumps hotline was steering kids towards lgbtq lifestyles without their consent then trumps hotline could retrain their staff or replace their staff with people who could respond in a way that trumps HHS department seems to be the most helpful and impactful for those in need. That would have been the appropriate way to address this issue if it was ever even an issue.

But "trump" didnt do it. It was a pilot program that had exceeded its funding, so they just merged it with the other number.

But that not true, their website even states that they will still get the same expert and professional care. Its not being reduced to a lesser service, its the same service, they just have to use the same line everyone else does.
