Trump to end LGBTQ crisis hotline… why?

No you bigot

Being gay doesn’t mean you aren’t a human and don’t have the same sort of depression or substance abuse issues as anyone else
Many gay people deal with the same mental health issues as straight people. But many also deal with issues that are directly involved with being LGBTQ. Anxiety about coming out. Being rejected by family because of being gay, hate and bigotry, etc etc etc.

Similar situation with vets where many deal with PTSD and effects of being to war. These things warrant special training and handling to better provide support.

Taking away the extension to LgBtQ is just cruel and unjustified. Petty and political

Any and every Federal program (expenditure) should pass a three-part test:

(1). Is it Constitutional? (See Article I, Section 8, for a list of everhthing Congress has the power to spend our money on).

(2). Is it a good idea?

(3). Can "we" afford it?

This hotline for sexual irregulars is 0-3 as far as I can see.
Do you feel the same about 911. Is that unconstitutional as well?

Also remember that it was Trump that made the hotline a 988 number that works nation wide. Do you still think it’s unconstitutional?

So, if something "isnt about inclusion," then we need not worry about inclusion anymore?

You are aware that college is not about inclusion? Its about providing the best possible education.

Neither is the military, medical school, firefighting, the Cabinet, advertisements, and girl's sports.

You will never make the "inclusion" argument again, then?
There is a blind rebuttal going on of DEI. That’s why IMO this program is being shut down. My point that this issue shouldn’t be about DEI, it’s simply about mental health and giving the best help to those in need

Nope, it's about equal treatment for all and it's the correct thing to do. How many hotlines do we need for special people?
It depends on the issues coming in and how to best handle them. LGBTQ constitutes a significant portion of the crisis calls and suicides. Just like vets with PtSD. Best to cater the support efforts to best handle the volume and subject matter of those in need. Always improving… but you and Trump want to digress for some reason

No we just believe in equality. Something you don't believe in. You believe in setting the lgbtq up on a pedestal so we can all worship them. We finally have someone with intelligence running the country.

If being gay is normal why to they have special issues? :cuckoo:

911 is local, you blithering moron.

You have things half assed backwards here, Slade.

Becoming a homo is a symptom of their mental illness. Not vice versa.

People were are neurotic or psychotic somehow get the idea in their minds that sodomy is the way to go.

I'd like to respond to that, but I need to know how many sexes I have to say there are to avoid sounding ignorant and bigotted.

How many sexes does a knowledgeable and open minded person say there are?

That is a health benefit they earned from their service to their country, not a special interest.

I don’t see why that matters when it comes to mental health. I’d find it very strange if a licensed therapist reacted to a patient in crisis who may identify as a they or whatever, by lecturing them about there only being two sexes. I highly doubt that is a smart strategy to use especially in a crisis situation nor do I think it should be used

What does that have to do with a crisis hotline?

You seem to be making a case for there being a segmented specialty to help people who are LGbTQ

So, its okay to say there are only two sexes, just not on a suicide hotline?
