All they did was remove the 'press 3' option. Anybody can still call the general hotline and receive competent help. The experimental 'press 3' option has only been in effect for a little over two years. I am sure it was considered not all that effective and that it was more effective to utilize the general suicide hotline.
The general hotline can transfer the LGBTQX+ kids to the Trevor center that fields most of those calls just as easily as the Press 3 option did. Or can put a trained professional on the line.
By the way there was no National Suicide Hotline until Trump signed it into law in 2020.
