Trump says 'Triumphal Arch' monument construction to begin within 2 months in DC: report

The Triumphal Arch' monument is a proposed structure in Washington, D.C., modeled after Paris' Arc de Triomphe. It is set to commemorate America's 250th anniversary and is expected to be a centerpiece of the White House's plans for the celebration. The arch will be located near the Lincoln Memorial and serve as a gateway to Washington. The construction is expected to begin in the next two months, with a total cost estimated at around $100 million. The project is being funded privately, with funds from the new White House ballroom project.

Looks like he's getting a two-fer with the donated ballroom money.

President Donald Trump revealed Wednesday how soon an Arc de Triomphe-style monument will be constructed in the nation's capital to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

Trump on Wednesday said the construction of the monument, nicknamed the "Arc de Trump," will begin "sometime in the next two months," according to a report from Politico.

Well this is sure gonna send the TDS crowd into a tizzy.

Just waiting for them to compare it to the Brandenburg Gate.
;)

Arc de Trumpeth.
A great idea.

Something else to have removed when he’s gone.

Makes me recall back 23 years to my conservative friends and acquaintances making French jokes because they didn't back GW Bush's invasion of Iraq. I never cared for the jokes at the time. Hearing them struck me with the thought that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it, as I didn't feel Iraq would be anywhere as grateful than the French. Heck, our Senator McCain was picturing the march of US troops through Baghdad in style of the reception given our troops after Paris was liberated from the Nazis.

I'm now taking some glee that in a small way with the Arch. Trump has us mimicking them, who would have thunk it! Takes some guts on his part as there's likely to be some 'minds think alike' comparisons to Hitler's design plans for Germany's own Arch of Triumph.

A huge win. Trump's name will be on it forever.... unless Lefty decides that it needs to be torn down. Already there are calls on Twitter that leftists running for the D nomination in 2028 have to promise to tear apart the new White House ballroom as a condition of getting the nomination.

I think it’s an Xbox controller
Elbows I think.

It could be good if the statues on the arch represented important achievements by the US, for example landing on the moon, WW2, the perfection of TexMex...
