Russia views nato as a threat. We don’t get to decide what other countries view as existential threats to their sovereignty. Massive trade between the US and China has existed for a long time. Without cheep TVs made in China, we would be paying twice the price. China has been willing to discuss trade inequalities long before trump's silly tariff fit. All he did was piss off our closest allies.

Sure, we need more manufacturing here, but trump's way won't work. How long do you think it takes to build enough factories to supply all our needs for just one item? How much more for everything we get from China?
