It's something I've been saying from thr moment he became president the first time and went after Europe, rethorically speaking. As oposed to now.

Many Americans don't seem to know just how much of an advantage they held compared to the rest of the world under the world order how it was. Or think that advantage is a right that just has to be bestowed.

It's not. It's something thats been granted in the umderstanding that the US acts as a moderating influence on world affairs. The creation of a stability heretoo unknown in world history. Europe amd the rest of the wotld made the US the first among equals in exchange for a part of their national sovereignty.
