Trump Recession?

Farmers are already being crushed by Trump's far left policy. They are the canary in the coal mine.

The next sector which will be hurt the most are small businesses and their employees. Many small businesses are going to go under.

Also, truckers.

With container shipments dramatically dropping, truckers are going to be punched in the gut.

Nobel Prize-Winning Economist Warns of Trump Recession

A Nobel Prize-winning economist has told Newsweek that President Trump's trade policies and the ambiguity surrounding their implementation are pushing America toward an economic downturn.

The warning came from James Heckman, a professor of economics at the University of Chicago, who said: "The fear of tariffs and the uncertainty about their magnitude and duration is causing the recession."

Trump's trade math baffles economists It is "idiotic and flawed"

Trade economists were scratching their heads on Thursday at the formula used by the White House to measure trade imbalances and inflict punishment on all its global trading partners.

Handed a chart in the White House Rose Garden, US President Donald Trump presented the rationale for how his administration would impose reciprocal tariffs on partners ranging from major powers like China and Europe to the smallest nations.

The figures presented bear little resemblance to actual tariff levels, however. "This is to economics what creationism is to biology, astrology is to astronomy," former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers posted on X.

We'll be lucky if he doesn't send the whole world into a very long depression.

Small businesses struggle under Trump’s tariff whiplash: ‘I’m so angry that my own government has done this to me’

Small Businesses, Big Burden: The Cost of Tariffs

A staggering 97% of U.S. importers are small businesses, so when tariffs rise these companies face steep costs that threaten their survival.

Higher tariffs = Large tax increase on small businesses.

In other words, Trump's tax cuts for the rich (himself included) are taken out on the backs of small businesses. And, of course, Medicaid patients.

In fact, Trump has said more than once he wants to replace income taxes with tariffs. That means raising tariffs much higher, permanently.

So again. Higher tariffs = Large tax increase on small businesses.

‘I don’t have the cash to pay for these tariffs’: US small biz suffers

What tariffs mean for American farmers

“Long-term, the buyers of our products see us as unreliable trading partners and look to buy from farmers in other parts of the world. In many cases, those buyers from five years ago (the last trade war) never came back to farmers in this country, as they found more reliable markets in other countries.” - Aaron Lehman, Iowa Farmers Union President

"For us that means cutting back on necessary farm maintenance and improvements and also trying to find ways to finance the farm with a smaller cash flow. Lending terms become stiffer as our creditors look to protect their lending position on the farm. Our local farm input suppliers will start cutting employees as farmers are forced to purchase less. And of course, this makes bringing the next generation onto the farm even harder and in some cases delays those decisions.”

I hope this catches you up.

Trump at that barbershop gathering:

Q: Do you think it's possible to find a way to eliminate federal taxes for --

TRUMP: There is a way. There is a way.

Fox "News" edited out the remaining seven minutes of gibberish and rambling by Trump to that question.

When he says, "There is a way" Trump actually believes federal taxes can be eliminated and replaced with tariffs.

I want you to think about just how high tariffs would have to be raised to offset federal taxes.

Think real hard, and think what that would mean to the 97 percent of importers who are small businesses.

Your first article didn't come up because CNN took it down.

So, your second article from the US Chamber of Commerce, headed by a former McCarthy acolyte, doesn't seem to be panning out...So, either these businesses have absorbed the costs, or the dire prediction that this gentleman made in May, have NOT worked the way he predicted....

Third article, Aljazeera? dismissed. Not because of the outlet per se, but because the article does what so often Liberal progressive like you try to do, which is appeal to emotion, by highlighting an anecdotal incident from ONE small business in the US, and paint a picture that it is the entirety of the effect.

And your final article from Farm Aid, the two writing the article are environmental activists. Other articles they've written show a significant bias to their writing...So, while I'm not dismissing them, I do read it with a skeptical eye...Some of the style in this article seems to jump to unsupported conclusions, and unfounded theory that is decidedly negative toward this administration. Therefore, I have to conclude with the totality of your offerings, that either out of date hyperventilating, and, or just plain unfounded doom theorizing are useless to your argument....

So, your argument seems to me, to be let the continued rip off of American taxpayers continue, because you're now worried about prices. However, when both Obama, and Biden were in charge, and prices were going up, people like you said smugly, that "this was the new normal" and I highlight, "Rubes like you were just going to have to get used to it." Remember that bs? I do....Now, you're all concerned....Not buying it....
