Trump Possibilities

I'm very cautiously optimistic. I remember that the Bush cabal did to Reagan behind his back.

That's the political attitude that NEEDS to change.

It's not an "us vs them" game.
What needs to change is that people need to remain vigilant. The "us vs them" game is being played by the Washington ruling class against the rest of us.
I'm hoping this is where a person like Trump can force the changes an establishment rep or dem can't. Cut the hell out of the EPA, it's gotten out of control. Gut the Department of Education, it's out of control. I'm looking for Trumps success to be based more on the garbage he cuts rather than new things he adds. It's a perfect situation and if he does well I think he will be the first in a long time to actually gain more seats in the congress and senate rather than losing them.

Cutting and gutting is not the answer... the answer is reasonable regulations and effective investment in education.

Just like taxes: The answer is no more cutting taxes than it is raising taxes - the answer is a fair and simple tax code.

All that cutting and gutting will accomplish is to create expensive chaos.

True change requires changing congress.

And it would have helped if Congress folks actually read the Legislation before voting on it. But of course they didn't. Nancy Pelosi actually directed the dunces to vote first and read it later. By far, the worst House Speaker in US history. Hopefully, they'll they take the time to read and understand the coming Legislation. But we'll see i guess.

I hope all who voted for him, find themselves with an illness and without a job, and their cobra runs out,
and then come and cry us a river. Remember at any given time you can get cancer or break a leg, shattered. Forget disability as you can sit and work.

You had the nerve to vote for a man who wants to take away healthcare from many , I hope someday you can know how that experience feel.

He may not let you die on the edge of the road, but lets see if he sends a car for you.

Health Care is a right, same as education. After all what good is education , without healthcare.

Most of you have voted to screw yourself, how does it feel?

You know what? I hope we get rid of obiecare so you never have to deal with the shit we've had to. We had the exact insurance plan and savings accounts we needed when my wife got sick. Everything we needed was covered, we had no extra crap we were paying for that we would never need such as pregnancy, infant care etc.

We had a plan costing us a third of what it does now due to obiecare. We had a deductable of 1,500 bucks a year, it's now 5,000. Her meds were 20 dollars, now they are 50.

We didn't screw ourselves you arrogant fuck. You and your democrat party did. So how would it feel if obiecare went the way of the dodo bird LIKE WE VOTED FOR? It would feel pretty damn good and we would be grateful for it.

Exactly. They ask us how we would feel about all these people losing their insurance, but nobody gave a shit about the people that lost their insurance because of Commie Care. We didn't count. The Democrats never addressed it, they never brought it up, it was just too bad for you likely Republican voters. Now die if you can't afford Commie Care.
Yep. millions of people losing their doctors and health plans was just a price that needed to be paid to get this socialist bullshit rolling. Fuck 'em. But now they are suddenly concerned that someone may lose a current government paid for plan.

I can't tell you how bad I hate liberals.

If the ACA was truly Socialist, costs and availability would not have been big issues - the issues would have all been service related.

The ACA was a terrible compromise with protecting the profits of insurance and other industry donors prioritized. If it had been truly Socialist in nature, the insurance industry would have hated it and their profits would not be soaring right now. Obama was weak for signing it.

What does that have to do with my comment? Just like when DumBama doubled the Food Stamp role, he only had one thing in mind, and that is getting as many people as possible on the government dole.

Then it failed, asshole. It created jobs and it led millions of people to put some skin in the health care game.

And....poor people don't vote in large numbers. Your world view is fucked.

What do you mean it failed? 20 million on Commie Care, another 20 million or so on food stamps, that's over 40 million new government dependents with those two programs alone! Of course it worked. It worked out exactly as it's was designed.

You are a fool. The food stamp usage is due to the economic collapse and was ON THE WAY DOWN over the last year and a half.

Dick.

Yes it is, because Republicans in Congress cut funds. Then you have Republican Governors like in Maine. In Maine, they instituted regulations to collect food stamps. If you had no dependents, you either had to 1) have a job working at least 20 hours a week. 2) Be enrolled in a vocational program learning a new career to get a job. 3) volunteer at least 20 hours per month.

Guess what happened? That's right, most of those hungry people didn't seem so hungry after all. They dropped out of the program.

Disagree, when a government gets this large the only solution is to cut it back and let the chips begin to fall. I can pretty much predict that 99.9% of us will never miss an EPA cut in half. They don't really do that much for us since they expanded their original reason for existence. Good job on the clean air, it's fine now and why the hell are they getting into people's fucking ponds on their property.

The answer always seems to be go against your party, or ideology but that only happens when people hanging on to their party and ideology are telling us that in order to pass their party and ideology. I'm fine with my ideology and am not willing to give that up to make someone else feel good. If I have a party going my direction I will support them. I don't really care what the other party is doing until they are all for socialism. Mostly what they want is bullshit. I have no issue with being against that.

I would worry less about party if there wasn't one that was pushing for full on socialism. That party can fuck right the hell off.

The EPA forced us into E-check which is a system to screw taxpayers. The feds took samples of our air and determined that we must check vehicle emissions. So we spent millions and millions of dollars testing cars and trucks. Ten years later, they tested the air quality again and found no improvements. So what did they do? They forced us to continue the program.

We don't need the F'n federal government to tell us what kind of air quality we should have in Cleveland, Ohio. If you don't like our air or water, STF out of our state.

The two largest threats to our liberty are bureaucracies and life-long appointed judges, because neither has any accountability to the people. It's time to get rid of all bureaucracies, because bureaucracies have no Constitutional authority to create laws, impose fines, or impose taxes on the people.

I disagree. I don't think that the 2009 democrats were capable of that much forward thinking.

I think it was passed and signed in to law under a highly partisian "business as usual" atmosphere as congress eagerly $ucked the cock of corporate politics while appeasing a newly elected, wet-behind-the-ears president that they loved the idea of, but had no intention of changing for.

I am sorry, but I can't figure how you'd enjoy being lied to so often in a single address. But...whatever.

Nobody enjoys being lied to. I'm still highly skeptical of Trump and by no means ready to sign on to his 2020 campaign, but I am going to give the new president the benefit of the political doubt for now.

I liked seeing him tone it down. Among other things, I liked hearing that he understands (or is at least capable of stating that he understands) the importance of education in making America greater than it is, and I liked hearing that he hasn't gone full-republican on health care, still favoring the popular parts of the ACA.

Possibilities. We'll see.

Bull.

Food stamp enrollment in the U.S. is declining from record levels, in part because some states are ending benefits earlier than they have to.

Seven states, all led by Republicans, have decided this year to end waivers for some able-bodied recipients that were made available in the 2009 federal stimulus bill — even though the benefits are federally funded.

Enrollment in what’s formally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is still nearly twice the level it was before the recession. But the most recent data, for May, showed 43.5 million people were receiving food stamps, down 9 percent from a 2012 peak and the fewest since 2010.

Much of the drop comes from an improving economy, but efforts to reduce enrollments among able-bodied adults also are accelerating the decline.

Under federal law, food stamp benefits are cut off after three months for adults under the age of 50 who don’t have dependents unless they find work or engage in a volunteer or job-training activity. The stimulus bill permitted states to waive that provision in areas with high unemployment.
