2) Trump turned the tables on Iran, by blockading the blockaders. Masterful!
3) The betting markets are with Trump. Oil prices are down, demonstrating companies and investors believe Iran will cave. The stock market is up.
4) Trump is accomplishing all this without violence, which was set up by Trump's tough talk and earlier targeted attacks.
5) The leftwing media is deprived of Iranian news, meaning that Trump's polls will steadily rise.
6) Republicans lead by 5 points in the generic ballot, when usually the incumbent party trails by 15 at the midterms.

Basically Trump has done an escape/reversal on the left. In wrestling, it's known as a hip slinky.
