Trump may have already changed his mind after today's market carnage.

You're a short sighted fool just itching to ***** about your nemesis.
Sadly, your socialist/communist presidential choice didn't win.

Trump stated there would be short term pain. Once the markets figure it out and adjust
there are going to be some serious gains.
You do understand that we are getting billions with these new tariffs, right? :eusa_whistle:
I have absolutely no confidence in this shitty, corrupt disaster administration 2.0.

China's tariffs on imported products from the US are up to 54% after today's announcement.

On CNBC today an analyst said if all i-Phone production was moved to the US from elsewhere a new model would cost approx. $3,500. No wonder Don calls himself a stable genius. ;)

Don't buy one then. Buy Samsung, ooops tariffs there too. Mark you down as against factories opening up in ESTL or CLEVE. I guess Black cities can remain selling drugs and ribbing while China puts millions to work? Are you racist?

Can't continue on $2T short every yr by your commee Politicians. What else is there? Find $2T. Go.

I also saw an interview with a trump appointee, Labor Sec. Lori Chavez-DeRemer. She said, with the blissful look of a cult member, that it's "a great day in America" as the screen in the background showed the S&P futures down 4%.

Don't bother with that bullshit. Tariffs aren't going to bring a significant number of manufacturing jobs back.

They are assembled in US...

It is made in multiple countries...

This is one of the most American made cars:

This is modern supply chain management... Transmission is made in 7 different places
View attachment 1096655

This is how we make stuff today... You can't have everyone making something from one place..

They are MADE in the United States, sure, parts can come from other places, but the parts are all put together to MAKE, or manufactor the auto, here.

The assemble autos, the are made in many places...

Sorry, but you are showing your complete lack of knowledge about the industry...

There are specialist car parts manufacturers all over the world who are supplied by other electronic or materials from around the world too...h

hahah you are showing how you are really butchering the words to try and make a failed point.

They are MADE in the United States. Sure, parts can come from a number of sources, but the parts are put together, to MAKE or manufacture, the auto here in the United States.

Putting cars together in USA is similar to USA auto makers putting cars together in Mexico or Toronto.

Nice for MFG jobs (better than nothing) but the "good high pay" auto jobs are in Japan for Toyota as example. The profits go to corporate, not to Alabama.

USA has a few car headquarters left here.
Buy Ford (KC, GM (IND) designed and assembled here. Good jobs here too.
There is good money in making parts but you need specialist engineers designing and working with the build teams...

This is why you get parts from outside...

Look at Valeo the make auto parts... Lets just look at clutches..

This is the ones in a Ford

This is the ones in a Toyota

They are specialist in Clutches and they send them to many companies... There engineers are specialists in clutches, they know clutches and how to manufacture them at a very high quality, with very little failure for the best value...
They supply clutches to all the big manufactures...

Now do you want Ford to be making their own Clutches, because Valeo have invested decades in Korea where they make clutches. Those guys in Korea just do that.

Powell sees tariffs raising inflation and says Fed will wait before further rate moves

When does the winning start?

Let me enlighten you

Thanks to democrats the country is flooded with migrants

I know libs would prefer to put them all up at the Waldorf Astoria and feed them 3 square meals a day while they await a pathway to citizenship with voting privilages

But when the government billions run out they have to find jobs, any jobs, at whatever wages they can get under the table

Which drives down wages for Americans

And Democrats (including BERNIE!) used to hold this exact position.

Until Trump agreed with them.

Then it was an immediate and dramatic about-face.

Come to think of it...

There's another subject on which the Dems used to fundamentally agree with Trump's current position.

What was that again?

Oh yeah...

Tariffs.

But, of course, that was in the long ago days of yore.

Like when Obama called for reciprocal tariffs in 2018.

What a dumb fascist.

His staff was quoted earlier today saying the tariffs are not a negotiating tool.

  • Trump administration officials insist that the sweeping tariffs are not a negotiation tactic, and that Trump “is not going to back off.”

So..........you might want to GFY.
Trade wars are about who blinks first. You arent going to win if the other side thinks youre getting scared. Thats why Trump says "tariffs are wonderful", when everyone knows they arent, but Trump knows the left will push the idea that he is crazy and clueless, which works right into his hands. Trump is just a stupid idiot who wont blink, right? Europe will blink first as a result.

One thing I will concede:

It isn't yet clear if this is a game of chicken, or if Trump really means it.

Many in the MAGAVERSE tend to think he is attempting to permanently restructure the global trade system.

And if that is indeed the case, near term negotiations may not bear the same fruit for other nations that they did during Trump's first term.

Only time will tell.

No, the trade war will end within a couple months. The short term pain from this trade war will effect the midterms if it isnt ended soon enough. Trump will get SOMETHING out of our trade partners in return for ending the tariffs; more from some and less from others, but its going to happen. Once the trade war ends, the economy is going to cook.

On "Liberation Day" I watched the first 6 or 7 minutes of Trump's announcement and then switched to a baseball game for about 40 minutes. CNBC was displaying how the futures markets were going during their coverage. When I had tuned out, futures were up 1%. When I tuned back to CNBC, futures were all in the red by at least 3%.

All tariffs will remain in place
Nothing will change
