I'm glad you actually responded. Most people don't want to discuss anything. Taxes went down for most people, not just the rich. You can hate the rich, but don't downplay tax cuts the middle class actually received. How is healthcare for illegals due to reform being blocked by Republicans? What immigration reform do democrats actually want? You have mayors warning people that law enforcement is coming. Why would companies come back to the US if we make make it horrible to be here? If it is better everywhere else on earth to have a business, no one is coming back. Having the government set wages seems nice at first, but there are well documented problems with this. Government healthcare raised premiums, deductibles, and produced inferior care. Many dropped insurance instead of paying the penalty. Nice talkin to ya, got to go. Thanks for the article. Something I've noticed is that when I say help the middle class, the left automatically goes to safety nets. Do you view safety nets and middle class success as the same thing? It seems the middle class is getting hammered to pay for those safety nets. It is one of those, 'we tax you for your own good' kind of things. I'm not seeing how the higher taxation and regulation is helping teachers, electricians, and truck drivers. The second article talked about the impending disaster of less regulation. I don't really see it. It laments rich people getting richer, but that isn't saying how everyone else is doing. It isn't the same thing. When taxes are mentioned , everyone says the 1% this and that, and somehow they ignore the teachers, the electricians, and the truck drivers. At the same time, when people say we want to raise the taxes on the wealthy, guess whose taxes go up? Everybody's. That is why when talking about tax cuts, I don't care if you want to hit millionaire's harder, at least admit when regular people get cuts, and when their rates get hiked. A strong sensible safety net is a good thing, but that kind of policy can't be a benchmark for lifting people out of poverty, or encouraging success.
