Trump finally got his birthday parade. It didn't look like he had as much fun as he expected.

How many active-duty, retirees and veterans are there in the US? Not a tenth of them were there. I am an Army veteran and I damn sure wasn't there.
All Military -active and retired, along with civilians were invited to be there to honor the military. As I’ve said on other posts, this should be an annual event. Your issue is not the cost for this event but that it was Trump’s idea to do it.

After about 10 years of wanting a big beautiful military parade, Trump finally got one on his birthday. If you look at his parade in term of ratings, it was a pretty big flop. 200,000 were estimated to appear, but the best estimate of actual attendance was in the tens of thousands range. Pictures of him watching the parade are reminiscent of a kid who was expecting a pony at his party, but got his uncle in a clown suit instead. His ego had to be crushed to see the millions that showed up at the NO KING rallies to protest him.

It's a good thing none of us possess the human agency to actually...err....watch the coverage for ourselves.

Which I did last night.

It was a smashing success.

Even MSDNC was "shocked" that it was all about the history of the army, and there was nothing "dark or malevolent." (Chris Hayes words, not mine.)

You don't own the media anymore nimrod.

This kind of nonsense no longer succeeds in its intended deception.

November should have taught you that.

The parade had nothing to do with military history.

So IGNORE the announcer over the speaker who did nothing but discuss the history of the US military throughout the entire parade.

Ignore the 45 minute video on the history of the military that Pete Hegseth put together.

Not only did the parade "have to do with military history", it was the overarching theme.

But disbelieve your own eyes and ears ladies and gents!

Bulldog's petty, pathetic TDS-riddled brain just NEEDS it to not be true.

So much coping haha.

SuperBadSock hates everything Trump and everyone White.

"No Kings" day LOL was organized by two radical Leftwing groups called 505001 and Indivisible. Very likely funded by Soros and other America hating Leftists. They apparently used the coincidence of Trump's birthday and the 250th Anniversary of the Army to launch their silly nationwide protests that fell flat. The parade was a success as real Americans attest. And the only HONEST DEMOCRAT John Fetterman stated the same. Anti-Americans like you hated it of course.

That is correct. 505001 came into existence in response to DOGE.

It is a grassroots movement, so far. There is no evidence of Soros. As usual, every time a protest against Trump and Trumpian facism occurs, right wingers race to insinuate that the current “z international Jew” is behind it.

This is a trope that goes back to the 19th century.

I thought the parade was very nice, although I didn’t bother with the country music or much of the rest). It felt good to celebrate the Army.

And for once, Trump didn’t spoil it by stepping all over it and making it all about himself (yet).

It wasn’t protestors who used the coincidence of Trump’s birthday and the Army’s Anniversary, it was all Trump.

He openly insisted on a military parade throughout his first regieme. Don’t even try to pretend otherwise.

False suggestions that a military parade in Washington began during the Biden Administration have also been tossed about by Trumpsters. The lie is transparent.

It is not anti-American to be embarrassed at a fascist style military parade in the Capitol of the world’s greatest democracy.

Any more than it is anti-American to oppose the frontal assault that Trump and Trumpism have made on that democracy and its values.

I didn’t see the video, but I thought the announcer’s narrative was very interesting.

I hope he doesn't see this thread.
That would surely rain on his parade.

Uh, He wasn't yet President when they were planning the parade.

From the article he linked and to which HE referenced.

The Army was planning celebrations, but not a DC parade. That was something Trump did.

If you have something showing the Army was planning on a big DC parade BEFORE the election - please share.

It was our birthday, the U.S. Army, and lefties never have a good time.

So what are Trumps additional plans for a parade on October 3rd when the Navy hits 250 years? November 11th for the Marines? Since - you know - it doesn't fall on his birthday.

Or was it only for services their 250th just happens to be on his birthday?
