Trump faces new Jan 6 crisis

That's not the way it works, and you know it. They can have a severance package. But if they continue to work for you, you must maintain the pension they were promised when they went to work for you.

The military changed its retirement while my brother and I were on active duty. My brother and I could retire at 20 with 50% of my base pay because we were grandfathered in. I was downsized in 1994 to reserve status. My sister-in-law retired with 18 years during the same drawdown. I didn't have 15 years. When my son and daughter joined, their retirement was 40% of base pay at 20 years. They changed it again while my daughter was active allowing her to take a hybrid plan instead of a regular pension. She kept her regular. None of that mattered for most of us, except my brother who had 26 years and got 60 odd percent of his pay.

There can be changes but you have to grandfather older employees in,
Already said I would not change anything for military, police or fire.

Forget about storming the Capitol.
Republicans are ready to block Trumps certification

The first vote of the new House, when lawmakers are sworn in on January 3, is on electing a speaker. Then, on January 6, the House will meet to certify the results of the 2024 election.

Republicans elected Johnson as House Speaker in October 2023 after they were unable to agree on a replacement for three weeks after ousting the last speaker, Kevin McCarthy.

But Johnson is now facing a rebellion from House Republicans over his handling of government funding. The GOP's slim majority in the lower chamber means Johnson can afford few defections if he wants to keep his hold on the gavel.
How about that, first ballot win for Johnson there fort fun

Don’t blame me….

Blame Republicans if they are unable to execute a basic responsibility of a ruling party

Trump would pay the price.

maybe Democrats will help them out
Sux to be you, Simp.

Worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.

The Confederates never got close to taking the Capitol

That was Republicans

That was the White House

It was REPUBLICANS who took the Capitol in an attempt to stop the election
Whoever even came CLOSE to taking the capitol? I mean, according to the president, you would need F-15s and nukes to withstand the US military, and I don't know of any Republican who has them in their backyard. No, there were some democrat led riots that forced the president into a bunker, but even those didn't come close.

Come on man, some dude in pajamas and a horn hat was seconds away from defeating the best military in history.

We dodged a bullet, amiright rightwinger :auiqs.jpg:

Yours is the stumbling, bumbling democrat version of history.

History from the 'Party of Slavery'.

Let's face it. You are relishing a pipe dream. No one is going to lose their pensions. We can just start now and do away with them for future hires. I worked for the federal government for 18 years and I have nothing to show for it except my VA healthcare
Some decades ago there was a country that was considered a solid rock in the sea by its citizens. It had the second-largest economy in the world, its sphere of influence spanning a half the world, and pension programs that covered all the population at a certain age. In the course of several years it crushed spectacularly and people were left with nothing.

Democrats clinging to January 6th, and explosively exaggerating its importance are not unlike other minority communities who showcase one-off, insignificant events as though they were "proof" of endemic racism, overwhelming misogyny, and so on.

OnJanuary 6th, we had a couple thousand justifiably pissed off Republicans (the election had been stolen, after all), without any sort of weapons, causing mayhem in the hope of DELAYING an election formality, pending some sort of real investigation into the recent election. Some criminal actions occurred, and those fukkers are well-entitled to legal punishments. Indeed, NOBODY is questioning that.

Insisting that it was an "insurrection" is preposterous, as even the Left-dominated DC justice system has confirmed, not charging a single defendant with such a crime. It was nowhere near as destructive or meaningful as the George Floyd riots of the previous Summer.

It is positively hilarious that the Left is apoplectic at the thought of Trump rectifying some of the hundreds of injustices meted out by the U.S. and DC courts in connection with the happenings of that fateful day. Their lack of self-awareness is stunning, but not surprising.

It was our duty - our responsibility to - to support and defend the Constitution against ALL ENEMIES

We are not that country.

Try to STEAL another Election and see what happens to your "democracy"
Who tried to steal an election? I mean aside from the obvious attempts when truckloads of ballots appeared under cover of darkness and were in favor of Ole' Stumblebum?
