I think you are mistaken about what most of the people in the US want. While they might agree with the end goals I do not believe they agree with the method to get there.

It is my belief that most Americans do not want the US military committing extrajudicial killings in international waters.

It is my belief that most Americans do not want want to live in a country where "show me your papers" is the standard conduct and everyone has to keep proof of citizenship on them 24/7.

It is my belief that most Americans do not want the US invading other countries to take their oil.

I believe the mid-term election will bear this out.

If I am wrong then it will just be proof that my wife and I made the right choice almost 6 years ago when we moved out of the US and I will be even happier in less than 2 when we get our second passports. If the US keeps doing these things it will become harder to travel on a US passport.
