He put billions into the system with his socialism welfare bill for farmers. He put tariffs on China, which just means tariffs on American businesses and consumers. Many businesses and farmers thus went out of business, thus markedly affecting broken supply chains, too many dollars chasing too few goods, thus price increases, thus inflation and shortages.

Wow. From your title I thought we were finally going to be able to find some common ground. There were plenty of Trump actions that likely encouraged inflation, even if it did not actually take off until Biden doubled down.

But, the word salad you just posted, no. That's just a pile of words and phrases you piled together cause you thought they looked negative, no actual connection to real world events.

Trump also killed jobs, exploded the US money supply, bankrupted 260 US oil drillers, banned chips for US manufacturers. So after covid ended in the US we have 5 times more US dollars chasing fewer goods.

But old Joe is doing much the same. Lots of deficit spending and billions to a corrupt nation losing a war that is none of our business. But I guess you’re cool with that.

Good post.

Trump certainly played a role. Neo-mercantilism, co-signing all the democratic largess COVID bills, putting off student loans payments, etc. Joe and his Pelosi Crew, however, next-leveled up Chump.

In essence, Trump wanted a pre-Reagan American economy. And that, coupled with his treatment of other people, was why I detest him and his policies.

You're not all wrong, imo. But Trump was trying to at least get us to 2% sustained inflation. Obviously, those polices don't work in a post-pandemic global econ.

No. The roots of this inflation go back to the beginning of QE. While Trump’s economy benefitted greatly from QE, inflationary pressures had been building long before then. The global supply chain collapse was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Agreed. If you want to talk about inflationary pressure, MAGICALLY CREATING LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY, is the place to start.

Just today, I read some bad news out of California. Politicians, on both sides, seem to have forgotten, what causes inflation, they only care about catering to demands of the electorate and stake holder interests, without a care about long term consequences. They either don't know a thing about economics, have forgotten it all, or don't care.

Absolute insanity. We are suffering from inflation because the government is putting too much money into the system. . . and folks are suffering. . . and?

Now? These folks that don't get it, want EVEN MORE spending, to help combat inflation? WHAT THE FUCK?

That sounds like trying to battle a flood by spraying it with water. . .

As long as NATO continues its warmonger in Europe, and continues insisting that Ukraine not sue for peace, gas prices, food prices, and inflation, will, inevitably, continue.

Trillions, just like Biden.

And neither could have done it w/o consent of Congress.

. . . and with war in Europe? Biden has already said, he won't stop, regardless of the pain it causes to the lower and middle class Americans.

More babbling insanity.

Yet another revisionist thread from the leftists, attempting to divert attention away from their own dismal failures, and blame the previous administration.

There will be hundreds of these threads leading up to the midterms and next presidential election.
