We're upset that Trump is doing it without any approvals. Without any plans.Yeah, but are you REALLY upset that it’s being done, or is it just because trump is doing it?
Great! Then we can tell foreign dignitaries, and their wives at a state dinner, it’s in the tent outside…Now there’s a real symbol of the richest nation on earth…You don't need to "tear down" the building.
You repurpose the space and remodel just the inside.

Just going on the response providedYou don't need to "tear down" the building.

Trump is like the person living in an apartment, tearing down walls, ripping up floors, and then completely redoing the interior in a gaudy tacky decor, without the landlords permission.
That’s the dumbest post of this thread…We're upset that Trump is doing it without any approvals. Without any plans.

Form a committee, huh? Why?I don't think the next president should spend much time worrying about what should be done with trump's folly. Instead, a committee like what was had for the Kennedy Center should be formed, of course, with precautions to prevent some crazy future politician from taking it over like trump did the Kennedy Center.

Actually...
Once Trump leaves office the building could be repurposed. Taking the large open space that was the "ballroom" and more effiently using the space for modern office space layouts, general meeting rooms, high security SCIFs, restoring the visitor center, security, and IT infrastructure.
Working with a modern building, modern electrical, and HVAC systems - chopping up the wide open spaces would be a cost effective remodeling of the space built by bribes - I mean "donations".

It is just a symptom of ORANGE MAN BAD TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.Yeah, but are you REALLY upset that it’s being done, or is it just because trump is doing it?
Congressional, oversight? With a warning there would have been a review of the scope of the project, historical impact, public input, Congressional oversight
Yes, nobody knew
A week before, Trump was claiming there would be just cosmetic impact on the East Wing

And all the sudden, Dimtards hate free stuff. When Democrats and Republicans did revisions, they did so following the rules, and not by taking bribes from big monied interests.
So, um, yeah, that was different.
Oh, yeah, and they had competently drawn plans before they started.
Linky? Why? Trump, nor any president, does not own the White House. They do not have free reign to do whatever they wish to it.
Just when you think Trollwinger couldn’t get any dumber.I am sure we can find private donors to tear it down
That would make it OK
Only TDS infested morons get butthurt over a major FREE upgrade to the White House.Every citizen of the US should be upset that any president would unilaterally decide to tear down part of the White House, which does not belong to whomever is the president at the time.
...just like the ballrooms in Europe. Not wasting tax dollars, so no comments from the peanut gallery. It would be impractical to re-purpose Trump's ballroom. It's built as a huge high ceiling open space. Like the insides of a cathedral.
