Trump Ballroom Unlikely To Be Built

Yeah, but are you REALLY upset that it’s being done, or is it just because trump is doing it?
We're upset that Trump is doing it without any approvals. Without any plans.

Trump is like the person living in an apartment, tearing down walls, ripping up floors, and then completely redoing the interior in a gaudy tacky decor, without the landlords permission.

You don't need to "tear down" the building.

You repurpose the space and remodel just the inside.

Great! Then we can tell foreign dignitaries, and their wives at a state dinner, it’s in the tent outside…Now there’s a real symbol of the richest nation on earth…

You say that, but I’m pretty confident that if Biden or Obama had done this, you’d be saying “other presidents have made changes! It’s a good idea! He doesn’t need permission!”

i really think this is ALL about trump, 100%

That’s the dumbest post of this thread…

I don't think the next president should spend much time worrying about what should be done with trump's folly. Instead, a committee like what was had for the Kennedy Center should be formed, of course, with precautions to prevent some crazy future politician from taking it over like trump did the Kennedy Center.
Form a committee, huh? Why?

Or they could just rent a ballroom in Washington, like all the events Trump refuses to go to because he doesn't want public scrutiny.

Actually...

Once Trump leaves office the building could be repurposed. Taking the large open space that was the "ballroom" and more effiently using the space for modern office space layouts, general meeting rooms, high security SCIFs, restoring the visitor center, security, and IT infrastructure.

Working with a modern building, modern electrical, and HVAC systems - chopping up the wide open spaces would be a cost effective remodeling of the space built by bribes - I mean "donations".

It would be impractical to re-purpose Trump's ballroom. It's built as a huge high ceilinged open space. Like the insides of a cathedral.

It is just a symptom of ORANGE MAN BAD TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.

These assholes passed THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF and CHICKEN LITTLE status a long time ago.

Everything Trump says or does is a 5 ALARM FIRE.

I find it entertaining…like watching FAIL videos on Youtube.

With a warning there would have been a review of the scope of the project, historical impact, public input, Congressional oversight

Yes, nobody knew
A week before, Trump was claiming there would be just cosmetic impact on the East Wing
Congressional,oversight? :auiqs.jpg:

How did that work out for the BILLIONS Tater gave Gavin GelBoi for his high speed rail scam?:auiqs.jpg:

When Democrats and Republicans did revisions, they did so following the rules, and not by taking bribes from big monied interests.

So, um, yeah, that was different.

Oh, yeah, and they had competently drawn plans before they started.
And all the sudden, Dimtards hate free stuff.

Every citizen of the US should be upset that any president would unilaterally decide to tear down part of the White House, which does not belong to whomever is the president at the time.
Only TDS infested morons get butthurt over a major FREE upgrade to the White House.

...just like the ballrooms in Europe. Not wasting tax dollars, so no comments from the peanut gallery.

Correct. That is a wide open high ceiling space.

Incorrect that it would impractical to repurpose it.

Leave the shell. Rip out the tacky decorations and strip it down to external walls. Since it's a wide open space already, they don't even have to worry about existing interior load bearing walls - as there arent any.

The new Building will essentially be a 2 story building because of the high vaulted ceilings. If the rumored 90,000 square feet are true, that means it could be converted to two-story space probably in the order of 140,000 - 150,000 square feet (substracting wall thickness, stairwells, and elevators as non usable space).

That means cost savings because White House staff and those from other agencies that are dedicated to White House support that are currently housed on rented/purchased space in other buildings could be move to the repurposed building.
