Trump Ballroom Unlikely To Be Built

******* HITLER IS CONSTRUCTING A BALLROOM!

Its going to take a lot more than a C-note to take down the Trump Ballroom

Unless the liberal plan is just to torch it like they burned down Baltimore after the Freddie Gay death.
I am sure we can find private donors to tear it down

That would make it OK

you are kind of naive if you think that people are giving Trump gifts and not expecting anything in return.

The Graft in government has never been more obvious than it is now, because Congress and the Courts are looking the other way.

Again, plenty of space to be rented in Washington.

As it should be. A project like this never should have been done unilaterally, with no consideration of historical landmark status or a concrete plan.

Yeah, but are you REALLY upset that it’s being done, or is it just because trump is doing it?

Every citizen of the US should be upset that any president would unilaterally decide to tear down part of the White House, which does not belong to whomever is the president at the time.

Curious, if they tore it down, what do you think they would put in its place?

I think they’ll say what’s done is done and live with it.

The Trump Ballroom is actually for future Presidents, more than for the Trumpster himself.

Trump already owns a number of tremendous facilities in Florida as well as New Jersey, and has different alternatives to hold Presidential banquets. Future Presidents might not have the extensive holding of Trump. If there was a guarantee that Elon Musk would succeed him, it wouldn't be a problem. But a lot of top candidates haven't achieved billionaire tycoon status yet.

They could restore the White House to its previous configuration.

I do agree though if it gets built it will probably not get torn down. It will be a lasting legacy to the hubris of Trump

If the ballroom ever does get built I would contribute $100 to tear it down and rebuild the East Wing. Any physical manifestation of the Orange Menace's existence should, if possible, be destroyed to wipe the stain off the country. Starting with taking his name off the Kennedy Center.
Of course you would. You are an enemy democrat.

The mere fact you call it the Trump Ballroom is proof positive it is all about Trump himself. It is not about being able to use it, it is about building some sort of lasting legacy.

An East Wing visitor center/museum
Maybe a ballroom for up to 500
Maintain a footprint close to the old wing that doesn’t dwarf the White House

Nothing has been done, still time to do it right

Again, I doubt it will get anywhere near finished by the time Trump either leaves, is thrown out under the 25th amendment, or keels over and dies from whatever he's suffering from.

The question then becomes, how do we fix the mess he made?

But that will be true for the whole country.

Actually...

Once Trump leaves office the building could be repurposed. Taking the large open space that was the "ballroom" and more effiently using the space for modern office space layouts, general meeting rooms, high security SCIFs, restoring the visitor center, security, and IT infrastructure.

Working with a modern building, modern electrical, and HVAC systems - chopping up the wide open spaces would be a cost effective remodeling of the space built by bribes - I mean "donations".

Seems a reasonable approach.

Frankly, I can't think of a better metaphor for the whole Trump Regime. They are very good at tearing things down, but they suck at actually building anything.

Like in his first term. Trump kept promising an infrastructure bill and never delivered.
So in his first term Trump never built any infrastructure.

Why should this time be any different?

Works for me.

They'll need to fumigate the entire WH in 2029.

So they would tear down a ball room to replace it with a ball room?

I agree, it probably needs to be scaled down by about 40%, but it WILL be useful.

You don't need to "tear down" the building.

You repurpose the space and remodel just the inside.

I think it will get done, so I don’t think any of that matters.
