Trump Backtracks On Campaign Pledge To Bring Down Grocery Prices.

President-elect Donald Trump admitted in an interview with Time magazine that it will be difficult for him to reduce consumer prices, contrary to statements he made on the campaign trail this year.
“It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up,” Trump told Time in an hourlong interview for its “Person of the Year” feature. “You know, it’s very hard.”

Trump is right that it’s very hard to achieve across-the-board price reductions. Curbing inflation is only a matter of slowing the rate of price increases — actual economy-wide price drops typically don’t happen outside of a massive economic downturn.
As usual, the Huffington asswipe (because that's all it is good for), runs a title that does not reflect reality.

And you, with you lips firmly affixed to anything left-wing, bought right in.

Trump thought that if he can lower the price of gas that food prices would drop.
That may be true, but it will take years to get more gas to the pumps.

So all Trump was doing is lowering expectations that the cost of food will drop early in his term.
If Trump deports millions of illegals that should lower the price of groceries due to less demand.
But deporting millions will take years.

So Trump is just setting expectations for grocery prices to be a longer term promise, not a quick one.

Those prices are permanent. What Biden did can never be undone.

He’s lowering expectations after running a campaign that created those expectations.

That’s backtracking.

So a politician lied. Color me shocked.
Kinda like how biden said he was going to end the pandemic, and then got on the mic after getting elected and saying there is nothing he can do, and another couple hundred thousand people died.
Politicians lie people. All day every day. You shouldnt be surprised when they get caught.

Trump is our president. What's even better than that is Vance is next. 12 years of God, guns, and babies. All is well.

Youll see some movement, but gas wont change the fact that trillions of dollars were printed.
Bringing the price of gas down is going to be quite difficult. Lower gas prices puts American oil companies in the red. During Trump’s administration, he actually tried to increase gas prices because they were losing money and going bankrupt.

Kamala said she was going to lower prices. The first think citizens should say is "how", what is your plan? But most people sit back and say "Wow, what a great policy". That's no policy, it's a dream, one shoved into a tightly fitting pipe.
How cany any sitting president control prices without deeper gov't intervention?
