Top 20 — percent of state population on SNAP (rank · state — %) states that voted for Trump in 2024 in red:
  1. New Mexico — 21.49%
  2. Oregon — 18.09%
  3. Louisiana — 17.49%
  4. Oklahoma — 16.91%
  5. West Virginia — 15.46%
  6. Nevada — 15.21%

Plenty of deep-red states…Louisiana, Alabama, West Virginia, Oklahoma…are ahead of California when it comes to the percentage of their people on SNAP. California sits around 14th place, roughly one in seven residents. So, yeah…turns out the state everyone loves to call a freeloading wasteland isn’t eating the biggest slice after all. My apologies to California, and maybe a little math lesson for the rest.

I would have guessed trump was playing politics with these programs but if you are being honest about his evenhandedness in handling this matter it really doesn't leave any room for accusations of partisan politics...looks like ya may need more "humble pie" at that table.

Besides you who else loves to call them that?...and at close to 50 million residents 7% is almost 3.5 million people needing assistance, by far and away the largest slice of the pie...percentages are being used here to fool the socially educated who have no idea what math really is...basically this was nothing more than an exercise in yellow journalism designed to put yet another scam over on the mis-shaped minds of the socially educated.

Why don't you compare median income to percentage of SNAP recipients? Wouldn't that be a better measurement of "freeloaders?" You will find that, once again, California leads the nation.
